RD 900 Planal de Salses, 66600, Salses-le-Château
Been here?
This roadside parking area welcomes motorhomes 9am to 8pm year-round. All basic services are included—electricity, drinking water, and greywater/blackwater disposal—making it practical for transit stops. WiFi costs €5 per day. However, being directly on the busy N9 national road means constant traffic noise day and night, especially from trucks. Sanitary facilities are old but clean. At €17 per night, it's economical for an overnight halt near Fortress of Salses.

As already described, the site is on a road that is clearly audible. If that doesn't bother you, you get a friendly welcome, old but clean sanitary facilities, a level pitch that is easy to access, electricity with a high-rated connection, and good disposal facilities. There is also a restaurant right next door. Very good for us as a stopover. We would come again.
Friendly welcome from the receptionist who spoke excellent English. The pitches are spacious, clearly marked out and level, and the service point looked easily accessible although we didn't need to use it. Popular with caravans and large motorhomes due to the generous pitches. Sanitary facilities clean but dated. Quite close to the road but it didn't disturb us.
A pure motorhome parking area on a busy road, with water and waste facilities, electricity, and picnic tables. At the former campsite, now only mobile homes, you can use the sanitary facilities. We preferred not to, as they did not make a good impression and smelled very unpleasant. At €17, it is actually too expensive. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful.
Great stopover site. You can use the campsite's sanitary facilities; they are outdated but clean. Electricity and water are included in the price: €17.42 for two people. We would definitely come back here. It connects well to the roads both toward Spain and toward the north.
We always stop at this campsite on the way to Spain. All the pitches at this campsite are now dedicated to mobile homes. A reception area for caravans and motorhomes has been arranged at the front. It is well designed in every respect, secure, and clean. Shame that it is beside the road: very noisy and frankly not very pleasant. One or two nights, no more. Old but clean sanitary facilities.
Disappointed to find ourselves on a roadside parking area, very noisy. The sanitary facilities are old but clean. We planned to stay two nights, but one was enough. We will not come back.
Booked two nights but left after one. The toilets and showers need to be revamped and updated. The road didn’t bother us as always sleep soundly but why would you want to use facilities that should have been bulldozed years ago? Spend some money on updating showers and toilets please.
We stopped here looking for a shower. It would have cost €5 per person. We drove on.
Recent motorhome area, with clearly marked spaces and all services. Unfortunately very noisy, day and night, near National Road 9, heavily used by trucks and cars.
Full-service campsite, but the vans and motorhomes have a grassy-free area next to a very busy road, even at night. Suitable for one night.
Excellent welcome, a great base for exploring the region. The facilities are very good. The only drawback is that the road is somewhat noisy at night, but it is perfectly bearable. We would return without hesitation.
Area along the national road, with trucks and cars all day and night. No shade. No interest.
Nice motorhome site with a welcome in German. Perfect for visiting the castle. Some road noise, but campers tend to sleep a little longer. The price is good. Showers are clean but somewhat dated.
A motorhome area with the amenities of a campsite, very easy to access. Clean sanitary facilities and washing-up area. Very friendly welcome. We will come back.
This is only a motorhome area, no longer a campsite. A large new site. The campsite's shower building is still partly in use, very outdated but with lovely hot water. It is on a busy road, close to the motorway and near a railway line, but we were not bothered by any of it.
Perfectly fine place to stay overnight. The site is tidy and clean. We paid 250 NOK for one night, including services. Reception was very friendly and spoke English. However, there was quite a lot of noise from the main road; that was the only downside.
Convenient for the road if you are passing through, but it is basically a motorhome parking bay, not a campsite for motorhomes. All services cost €5: filling and emptying €5, shower €5 per person, washing machine €5. Hot shower and reasonably clean surroundings.
a camper area where you can spend the night with electricity. Good reception (he made an effort to speak my language), kindness, very cold showers, too much road noise.
€17.50 in a motorhome with electricity. One night in November 2024. Clean sanitary facilities. The noise from the road, the closed railway line, and the motorway did not bother us for sleeping well, but mosquitoes... and more mosquitoes.
Absolutely horrible motorhome area. Beside the road with no trees at all. We made the mistake of paying €21 before seeing the other areas. We stayed for 10 minutes and, of course, they refused to refund us. Not very friendly, very disappointed with the welcome.....
