Pirkheimer Str, 85072, Eichstätt
Been here?
A large motorhome area beside the Altmuehl provides a quiet overnight stop close to Eichstätt’s old town. The latest stated price is 14€ for 24 hours, plus 0,80€ for 1/kWh electricity; grey and black water disposal is at the entrance. Clean toilets and showers are available, although payment accepts only Girocard or coins, not credit cards or NFC, and access is somewhat hidden.

The actual parking area is behind the chimneys. Very large, with a clean toilet and shower. Directly by the river, without a direct view. €14 is a little too much, but okay for one night.
EC card payment at the machine broken again! Credit cards not supported. Cash payment works (only €2 coins accepted). Relatively empty during the week in July. Pitches with some shade are on the right when viewed from the entrance. The site manager is nice. Checks usually take place daily from 08:30–09:30 and 17:30–18:30. Bins available.
The last three reviewers have said everything; there is nothing to add. We give it a 100% recommendation
Large site with plenty of room for campers. Ticket only with coins or bank card, not credit card. Directly by the river. Quiet. Centrally located near the old town. Toilet container at the campsite. Good pitch for passing through as well
Nice site on the Altmühl, with a friendly site manager. €14 for 24 hours + €0.80 per kWh for electricity. Access is somewhat hidden, as already described. Good restaurant “Zum Olivenzweig” five minutes’ walk away. Old town a pleasant ten minutes away. EDEKA on the other side of the river. Numerous pitches; no reservation needed.
We spent a peaceful night here. Access is somewhat hidden. Turn left shortly before the tennis court. The entrance looks like a pedestrian/cycle path. The machine only accepts Girocard and coins, not credit cards and no NFC! The shower/toilet containers were still locked. Water and waste facilities directly at the entrance to the fairground car park are accessible to everyone. Edeka supermarket within walking distance.
Lovely walk along the river to the town. Wonderful bakeries. The services are at the entrance to the main car park on left as you enter . Water 1€ for 60 or 100litres. ;Grey and Black waste disposal too.
Large pitch with everything you need, located directly beside the Altmühl, although you cannot see it when the trees are in leaf. In Eichstätt there is a pizzeria where I ate the best pizza of my life. The pizzeria is called “Vicentro” and cannot be found on Google - ....
Great site for the money, clean showers and toilets. Three minutes’ walk to Stefano’s for food; it was tasty and inexpensive. Bread-roll service is also available, and you are quickly in the old town
We spent one night here. It is worth reading the site’s website beforehand, bringing your own toilet paper and a good amount of change (shower approx. 3–4 minutes, in the container, €0.50; cold water at the washing-up area, €0.20 per minute. No hot water!) Too few of the sanitary containers were open, even though the site was well occupied. Overall, there is still room for improvement here!
Rather hidden site. We stayed here for one night while passing through. There were still plenty of spaces available late in the afternoon. €14 until 16:59 the following day. Toilets and showers in containers—everything clean and orderly. Electricity with coin slot (€0.50)
Beautifully located; we even got a large pitch during the wedding. Quiet for sleeping at night. Pitches with shade available during the day.
This parking machine! It refused all EC and debit cards (apparently it is a matter of luck). It then only accepts loose change. The change machine for coins only accepts €5 and €10 notes and dispenses them in 50-cent pieces. It is genuinely a challenge to get a ticket there. When the site manager is present, you can also pay him in cash, but unfortunately he drove away right in front of us …
We actually wanted to stay for two days, but ended up staying three because it was pleasantly quiet and had a very nice operator. Sanitary facilities are somewhat distant in containers but very clean and complete. Water and waste facilities fully functional but somewhat distant from the pitches. The town centre is easily reachable on foot and is beautiful. Recommended. Price: €14 for two people. Dog was free.
The site is perfectly fine. Sanitary facilities are a little further away but clean. The Altmühltal cycle path borders the site, and the baroque old town is relatively quickly reachable.
The site is perfectly fine. Showers and toilets are in containers and very clean. As already described, shopping facilities are about 400 m away on foot. Old town approx. 15 minutes. Waste disposal at the entrance to the fairground, approx. 300 m away. The entrance via the fairground is poorly signposted. Drive through to behind the district heating plant, then turn left. The operator is perfectly okay, friendly and helpful!!
I think the site is quite good, but the city should be ashamed of charging €14 per night here. In Ingolstadt I pay €6 with electricity per night, and less than 20 km from Eichstätt there is a free pitch. I had actually planned to stay here for a week, but tomorrow I will drive about 20 km further and stay for a week for free. Fresh water is still unavailable!
Well-intentioned, but not maintained. For €14 you effectively get nothing: no toilet, no shower, and I did not see any disposal facilities either. There is also no signage to the old town, shopping or waste disposal. If everything is still closed because it is the low season (late March!), the pitch fee should also be lower.
Actually a very nice site, but the drinking water at the service point appears to have been permanently shut off, the pitches at the front left are blasted with noise from a very loud fan all night (park on the right or at the back), and the ticket machine does not accept every EC card. The old town is at least a 20-minute walk away.
We had a very good experience. The site is well located for walking or cycling to Eichstätt and the surrounding area. The toilets and showers (€0.50) are in a container and very clean. Electricity is available at the pitch, as is waste disposal. The site is also very clean. Great place and the price is right too. Our thanks to the municipality of Eichstätt.
Completely overpriced site; the showers just swallow money and do not work, and the operator cannot be reached. Happily never again.
Large site directly on the Altmühl behind the fairground. Shopping within walking distance. The disposal station unfortunately requires some searching. We did not find any sanitary facilities. Slightly expensive for what is provided, but otherwise perfectly okay.
Some people review the car park in front of the pitch. Funny. The pitch is behind the building with the two chimneys. After turning onto the grounds, drive all the way to the very back and then turn left onto the pitch. Toilets and showers are okay. Price reasonable.
Site perfectly fine. A very beautiful old and new town. Everything very clean! Good ice cream!
Easy to find, friendly “neighbours”, with lots of shady pitches. Unfortunately, all the nearby restaurants were closed. What bothered us was that the site is so brightly lit, and that there are unfortunately no toilets—or I did not find them. During the fair, the site is closed. Eichstätt is a beautiful town.
We felt very comfortable here. Friendly operator, pitch located directly on the cycle path. Eichstätt is worth a visit.
