Camping Hiddema-State

Lovely quiet place, everything clean and tidy.

A very beautiful campsite with lovely details and a swimming spot on the canal. Ideal for cycling trips to Leeuwarden and the surrounding area. The farm animals are very friendly. Every morning I had a chicken join me for breakfast. Sanitary facilities very well maintained and clean.

Beautiful place, with many permanent guests apparently. Surrounded by water. It must be fantastic in good weather! Unfortunately, the playground was no longer there, as indicated on Google Maps, but despite the bad weather the children had a great time. A few games are available to borrow. Could you perhaps check the shower-water temperature? It’s unnecessarily and painfully hot!

Lovely small mini camping site, family run very quiet and pleasant. Owners very welcoming and friendly. Large pitch plenty of privacy and shade.

I stayed with my camper van in the field among the fruit trees. A beautiful place, and including all facilities I paid only €10 per night. Nice owners who think along to make guests’ stay even more pleasant.

I couldn’t have imagined how pleasant, beautiful and well-kept this small family campsite is. Nothing else is needed. Perfect—the only thing that makes me sad is that I don’t know when I’ll be able to visit again.

Camping Hiddema State is a beautiful small farm campsite with spacious motorhome pitches by the water near Leeuwarden. It is in a small village called Hempens, about 5 km from the centre, directly on the Nauwe Greuns, with a boating connection to the Frisian lakes. It’s wonderful camping among the horses, goats and chickens. Peace, space and a personal atmosphere.

Wonderful, romantic pitch with very friendly hosts. The sanitary facilities are very clean and the entire site is beautifully maintained. There are lots of lovely details, such as hanging chairs in the trees… A place to simply let your soul unwind. By bicycle, it’s about 15–20 minutes to the centre of Leeuwarden. Pretty city, well worth a visit.

A green site near the canal. The sanitary facilities are very clean and cleaned several times a day. The operators and staff are extremely friendly and try to make everything possible. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return.
