City-wall parking, paid hours

The western entrance through Santiago Gate is quite narrow, but we accessed it with a 7-meter overcab motorhome. The parking is regulated, but the spaces are wide, and you can encroach slightly onto the grass without bothering pedestrians. There is no prohibition against staying overnight. There are no facilities, but there are good views.✦Translating

We arrived Saturday at noon and bought a ticket valid until Monday. During the week, you may park for only five hours. We are spending the night here. The food in town is excellent. Very beautiful view. Slept very well. Immediately next to the old town. Paid parking from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. However, visit the town after 10 a.m.; before that, it is dead. Market at the foot of the ramparts on Saturday. The western access passage is 3.05 m wide for only about 4 m. It is better to exit that way; the eastern exit is more winding and narrow, at 2.80 m.✦Translating

It is 2:20 a.m. on July 18, 2024, and although it seemed like a nice, peaceful place to sleep, we woke up startled because someone has just thrown four hard-boiled eggs at the van from the promenade above. We did not hear any laughter or teenagers shouting, so we imagine it was a local resident. We are very quiet and respectful. I don’t understand it.✦Translating

Access prohibited for “trucks” and paid parking limited to five hours. The climb is steep and the small bridge does not seem suitable for large motorhomes. We did not want to take any risks.
