Parking ban, no overnight stays

Municipal order prohibiting motorhomes and converted vans from parking because of the abuse by certain people: occupying several spaces, staying for very long periods... “Some have abused it,” according to the municipal police officer who has just passed by. A blatant lack of respect, which today means losing one of the only suitable spots in Bordeaux.

A quiet parking area next to a small park. We stayed two nights and felt very safe. It is about 20 minutes by bus to the city.

As usual, 7- or 8-meter motorhomes spread out and take three spaces, while others would take only one, especially at the expense of the locals... In the end, this pleasant and practical place will be prohibited sooner or later.... The freedom we have to live on the road will soon be heavily regulated, as always, because of oversized egos... We used the parking area to take the bus and tram into the old town. The great thing is that in Bordeaux it’s no problem to take the bus with a dog. We have experienced otherwise in France! The night was quiet and pleasant. The adjacent park is ideal for walking the dog and jogging. In some places there is a great view over Bordeaux. The toilet has been closed for some time!

We spent one night after visiting Bordeaux. There were other vans. Quiet, although not all spaces are equally level.

Perfect for one night. Quiet parking, no services. Be careful: far from the center. Two wheels are essential.

Parking in a quiet, shady area. We were comfortable. I suppose it will be full in summer. In May there is plenty of space.

Great quiet and secure location. We reached central Bordeaux quickly by bicycle; beware of a steep hill on the way back. I recommend it.

This spot was perfect for a night , we felt safe to leave our van for a few hours to visit the city. There’s water taps and great bus connections. The park is beautiful :) Would definitely recommend!

Not suitable for a large motorhome, no Wi-Fi. Positive point: quiet.

A good spot with a water fountain. But motorhome owners, as usual, are disrespectful! Running the generator right next to the neighbors until midnight as if they were alone is truly shameful on a residential-site spot where there are always vans... Please think of others.

Night of January 1–2, 2026. Very safe place. Other motorhomes were with us. We spent January 2 in Bordeaux. Bus number 27 is a six-minute walk from the parking area (St Romain stop), to Cenon station, then Tram A or E to Porte de Bourgogne. For the return journey, after getting off the tram at Cenon station, take bus 27 from the Maréchal Foch stop (the route is slightly different from the outbound journey).

Really good and safe spot. The only thing that makes it slightly difficult is the only buses to town are about a 15 min walk away.

We are spending the night here and so far everything is fine. My only criticism is that the ground is somewhat sloped...

Nice spot with country views close enough for a 14 euro taxi ride to the centre. managed (just) to get a 6m boxer into the parking spot, and it doesn't feel like a dodgy area, so quiet ok with leaving it here while we explore. The only thing is the toilet looks like someone has been massacred in there.

Very good place to spend the night. Lots of shade, plenty of nature and very peaceful. Easy to park. We spent the night and had no problems at all. There is a huge garden and it is relatively easy to reach central Bordeaux.

We slept two nights without problems. Quiet place. To get to the center you have to take the bus or bicycle; it is too far to walk. Be careful with the return bus: number 27 has two routes, and one of them does not end near this location. There were four other motorhomes, all parked across the spaces and occupying several spots.

Good location close to the center. However, too far to walk there. Toilet available, but currently quite dirty (August 2025). In the evening, there were a few teenagers in the park, but we still had a quiet night.

Good for one night before or after visiting Bordeaux. Quiet at night. Waste bin available. There is also a toilet, but it is very dirty.

Safe place to sleep, many mosquitoes. Public toilets very, very dirty and a fountain where you can refill water. Quiet at night for a good rest.

Perfect for overnight and daytime parking, a little far from the city. Take bus 16 or 28 just down the hill from the park next to the parking area. Very quiet and full of campers, with plenty of space available. Shaded. In the morning, municipal workers woke us while maintaining the plants in the area; they did not disturb us and were very courteous. Highly recommended!

Quiet place to spend the night. Bringing a motorbike made it convenient to go to the center. We don’t know what public transport is like because it is not nearby.

We parked here to visit Bordeaux. It's true vans were parked length ways, so you do need to arrive early to secure a spot. A kind Spanish man moved his transit to allow us to get parked. The next day most were gone so it's not a place people stay for long. You can catch the number 27 into the centre. There was a harmless man wandering in the morning, he shook my husband's harm and posed no risk.

A very quiet place with large parking areas in a straight line, although I don’t see any services. Compared with the other locations in the city, it seems perfect.

Very good location, quiet and shaded. Plenty of space, no problem. We only stayed one day to visit Bordeaux. We have a two-wheeler, so the location was secure for us, far away and hidden. Bordeaux is 20 minutes by scooter.

Good place, water tap, open toilets, peace and nature.

Parked here during the night (Wednesday). Quite a lot of people coming in and out during the night so wasnt quite at all. Ok for one night if you want to see the city.

We parked here during the day for a few hours to explore the northern part of Bordeaux. There is a bus connection to Cenon, from where you can take the tram to the city center. The parking area belongs to the nearby park, so it is also used frequently by locals. It seemed safe, and you could probably spend a quiet night here. Please park lengthwise, not across the bays like some campers do!! Otherwise there will surely be prohibition signs here soon...

We stayed here for two quiet nights. The nearby park is great for a walk. The parking area slopes slightly. Many dog owners come here. Below is a social-pedagogical center, so we saw people with disabilities. The city is 5–6 km away by bicycle. The waste bin was already overflowing and the toilet was closed.

Because too many motorhomes allow themselves to take two, three or even four spaces, this parking area may soon be closed... Please stop acting as if you were at home!!! If you are over 6 m, move on; you penalize everyone with your lack of consideration!
