This small parking area beside a large lake and playing fields can provide an overnight stop, with level spaces and little road noise at night. Public toilets are available from 9am to 6pm, and a cafe operates from 9am to 5pm. Dog walkers, fishermen and park runners make it busy from early morning, with limited space for campers.

Coordinates took us to the access road but keep going for the parking lot. A busy spot for dog walkers and fishermen (private lake owned by a fishing club), so people are coming & going late into the night and early morning. Perhaps only 1 or 2 campers in the small parking lot at a time & there’s space on the access road. Cafe van has toasted egg/bacon sandwiches, coffee, duck food, dog ice cream.
HUGE lake right next to parking area with lots of ducks, swans etc. 2 cars parked up nearby late evening but no bother from them. A guy turned up just gone 4am to unload fishing gear but was also quiet. Sat morning park run goes around the lake so is busy first thing so we left in order to make space for them to park. Coffee hut in carpark opens at 9am.
Great quiet spot to park up for the night! Public toilets available here between 9am and 6pm, little cafe open between 9am and 5pm.
Seems like a nice place, but very noisy. Dog walkers until dark, and lots of road noise. It starts again in the morning at around five o’clock.
Really class little stop off considering how close it is to the city. Plenty of level spots, nice and quiet at night, coffee/cake van opens up in the morning and public loos a short walk around the lake! what more could you want
Really handy spot - was in area for work and needed a night stopover. Next to a nice lake which made for good dog walks. Lots of rats running around though! Car park gets very busy from 7am. Across the road you can walk to the peaceful river. Good signal.
A nice spot beside a huge lake. Fine to camp overnight but busy with dog walkers in the day. Close to the main road but quiet at night with just the odd car passing. A few other campers were there making it feel fairly safe
Beside the road, with a lovely pond nearby, admittedly, but in the small circular car park there was a car with a broken wing mirror, full of empty cans and rubbish. Another battered vehicle came to park without the driver getting out… we had dinner and left for somewhere else.
Great place to stop. wonderful walk around the lake not a lot of road noise .
It is possible to spend a quiet night next to the rugby field and lake… nevertheless, the town wakes up from 6–7 a.m. Food truck on site.
