Sportplatzstraße 1, 79872, Bernau im Schwarzwald
Been here?
An idyllic motorhome area on the outskirts of Bernau, with spacious marked pitches and clean toilets, but no showers. Payment is self-service in cash, and €1 provides 100l of water or 4 hours of electricity. Blackwater and graywater use the same drain. The area is suitable for walking and cycling, although a nearby busier road and occasional sports-ground or local noise can disturb the night.

Nothing to criticize, everything is fine. However, you should have small change (€1) for the electricity.
Very pleasant place, with very spacious parking bays. The facilities are very basic; there are very clean toilets, but no shower. Most importantly, payment is in cash, and you should bring the exact amount because it is self-service: you fill out a form with your details, put everything in an envelope with the money, and place it in a mailbox. We did not see anyone come to collect payment.
Nice place, clean toilet, no shower. €1 for 100 liters of water, €1 for 4 hours of electricity. It is along a somewhat busier road, but a nice stopover.
Unfortunately, at 1:30 a.m. a group of young people appeared on the sports field and made quite a lot of noise with loud music. It lasted only 45 minutes, but that was enough to leave us wide awake. At 3:30 a.m. there was a small fireworks display nearby. Then at 6:00 a.m. a motorcyclist thundered up the road. The night's peace was therefore badly disturbed.
Quite a quiet rest area; however, on the day I went there, a band was rehearsing until 11 p.m. in the sports center building. Apart from that, nothing to complain about: clean toilets, no shower, functional service.
Beautifully laid-out pitches with enough space. There is even a wooden bench at each pitch. Friendly kiosk operators. Lovely area for walking and cycling. We will come back.
I don't understand the other comments. It is a motorhome pitch, not a campsite. Be grateful that there are toilets at all. We always use our own, which is always clean. So what is your problem? It is completely peaceful here and beautifully located for all kinds of outdoor activities. Fresh-water and waste disposal are available—everything you need at a motorhome pitch.
Beautifully located. The only drawback: even on April 11, 2026, fresh water is still unavailable due to the risk of frost.
Well… love it or hate it! Lonely, quiet, yes!! Everything else is very basic… showers, toilets very old, but clean… I find it (at least in March) very lonely, neglected and dead here… despite the sunshine! I give it 3.5 stars… never 5
The campsite is still open, but it wasn't for us. There are many permanent campers and it feels neglected. The surroundings are very beautiful, though (good for hiking/walking), and the site manager is friendly.
Simply beautiful and quiet here. In winter it is a winter camping site. For a €20 deposit, you get a key to the building. You can use the toilet, shower and wash your dishes there.
From October 1, there are also permanent campers here, and the parking-site operation continues until the first snowfall (if I understood the friendly site manager correctly). We are here just after the first snow, and charges are made like at a campsite: €10 for the motorhome and €8 per person. For a €20 deposit, you get the key to the toilets, showers, washing-up room and lounge (which apparently belongs to the football pitch). The facilities are somewhat dated, but clean.
Beautiful view. A spacious site. It can sometimes be a little noisy because of the sports field. Open toilets.
Unfortunately, the beautiful view is blocked by the permanent campers. Apparently they stay there from October 1 to March. Unfortunately, they were also very loud.
A super site in a beautiful location. Payment is via an honesty system. There are a number of walks from the site. We were given a route map from the tourist office in the town centre. There is also a nice bakery opposite this. All services on the site worked well including a toilet block. €1 for 100 litres of water. We had a peaceful nights sleep and would definitely return.
Quiet, well-maintained large site by the ski lift. Toilets, water and electricity available. €12 per 24 hours. Highly recommended.
Once again, we had a lovely night here.
Actually very beautiful and idyllic, but unfortunately during our three-day stay the sanitary facilities were never cleaned.
Attention: the area is closed until 13 August 2025 for a local festival. Parking has been moved a few kilometres toward Todtmoos. It is otherwise a lovely place with all services. We stopped for several hours to attend the festival.
Attenzione = l'area è chiusa fino al 13/08/2025 per una festa locale. il parcheggio è spostato qualche km verso Todtmoos. Comunque bella e con tutti i servizi. Noi ci siamo fermati qualche ora per vedere la festa.
The setting is very pleasant, there is plenty of space, the sanitary facilities are very clean, it's perfect!
Indeed, it is very quiet and beautiful here! Payment is easy (put cash and the completed registration form in an envelope, seal it and put it in the wooden box on the right; place the duplicate of the registration behind the windscreen). The area is wonderful and invites you to hike and cycle. Thank you to the municipality of Bernau!
In July, many places were free, with everything you need. Very quiet and close to many trails.
Excellent site. Spacious and well maintained. The friendly site manager checks registration and payment by visiting.
Very quiet place, 5 minutes from the village. Electricity costs €1 for 4 hours. The toilets are clean. There are lovely walks around here.
Great site. Very clean, with toilets that are cleaned daily. The pitches are divided by logs. This prevents clueless people from parking as if they were alone in the world. A bakery and shops are immediately nearby. Great hikes and walks are possible. Thank you to the municipality of Bernau. We would be happy to return.
We liked it there very much. Wonderful views and surroundings. The toilets are clean. You can take lovely hikes from here. A few hundred metres away there is a small shop that is also open 24/7 with the appropriate card. (We applied for one because we would be happy to return.) Many thanks to the municipality for this great site! Another favourite on my list.
Beautifully located—in the middle of nature, the Black Forest at its finest. Very idyllic and peacefully rural :) The toilet is clean, and the process is very straightforward!
Wonderful place, very quiet, top service, super relaxed. Great starting point for cycling.
Beautiful surroundings, perfect for hiking and cycling. We stayed here for two nights. Good starting point for hiking the “Bernauer Hochtalsteig”. Unfortunately, the water had not yet been connected. There is a freely accessible toilet, though.
