Strada Monte Subasio, 06038, Spello
Been here?
This refuge parking area offers superb views over the plain and mountains, with a peaceful setting and several walking trails. The parking is spacious but sloping, making levelling difficult, while a higher area suits capable vehicles. The access road has potholes and damaged asphalt but is passable, with some overhanging branches. Access was reported as permitted from 6-21 in summer and 6-18 in winter.

Very peaceful and scenic. We had no problem with the road as reported—it is perfectly passable; some roads in Rome are worse. If anything, watch out for branches overhanging the road as you go up; you have to make a few chicanes. The parking area is on a steep slope, making it difficult to sleep there. Perfect for daily mountain-bike excursions.Translating
The view and tranquility of the place are beautiful, but there is a stretch of road with quite a few potholes on the way there, though it is passable. Slightly sloping, but still worth it.Translating
I confirm the beauty and tranquility of the place. The access road is suitable for any vehicle without a trailer, but the surface is damaged, with missing asphalt in places; take it slowly and it is manageable. The parking area at the refuge offers plenty of space but is somewhat sloped—bring leveling blocks. We saw two deer and one fox. Two cars came, but without disturbing us.Translating
So many bugs and midge type things that we didn't stay despite the fact that it looked gorgeous.
Truly enchanting place, a little difficult to level the van because it is very steep. The road is somewhat rough but suitable for all types of vehicles. We spent a peaceful night with only the sounds of nature.Translating
