Been here?
A free gravel extension of a supermarket car park provides a convenient base for visiting Savonlinna on foot, with the lake and a large supermarket nearby. It is easy to access and manoeuvre, including for large motorhomes, but has no services. Traffic beside the nearby road and intersection can be very busy, including at weekends and during the night.

There were other motorhomes parked there, but it was still peaceful. Free of charge. A road and traffic-light intersection are next to it, and it is also very busy at night on weekends. But the lake is nearby, as is a large shop.
Perfect for visiting the city, free, but not for sleeping: too noisy, although it is possible.
A free gravel and compacted-earth parking area near K-Citymarket, suitable for an 8.5-metre vehicle. We stayed from 6 to 7 October 2024. Access and manoeuvring are easy even for large motorhomes. The night was reasonably quiet, though the morning was very busy. There is an automatic gas-cylinder dispenser in the supermarket car park. Recommended for visiting Olavinlinna Castle, which is 1.8 kilometres away on foot.
Very large and convenient car park near the centre of Savonlinna. Across the road there is a large supermarket; it really has everything!
Good, safe and quiet parking area where we parked for a quick visit to the city. We did not spend the night; it is probably somewhat noisy as it is in a busy area.
Sandy parking area. Ideal for spending the day in Savonlinna. Free parking! It is next to a supermarket.
Fine for one night, no shade.
We spent a quiet night. Good location for visiting the city.
