54 Place de l'Église, 74350, Copponex
Been here?
Small village parking area with approximately 20 spaces and generally quiet nights. There is little infrastructure on site, while a bakery nearby is open daily except holidays. Parking is also possible across the road beside the boules court, on gravel. The church bells were reported as quiet overnight, starting again at 7 Uhr.

As already described: you can also park on the other side of the road next to the boules court, on gravel. There were no more construction machines or site vehicles there. The bakery is open daily again—but not on public holidays.
We arrived in the early afternoon and easily found a parking space for our Ducato (6 m + bikes). Very nice place, quiet night, bakery just around the corner.
The parking area shown in the photo was full of cars when we arrived just before 4, no room for a motorhome, but was able to park in a semi car park across the road where workmen’s vehicles were parked as there is a lot of construction work going on in the area. This is adjacent to the picnic tables, barbecue & public toilet which was fine. Bakers still closed. Good for 1 night.
Excellent site! There is currently construction work and the bakery is closed until September, but obviously both are temporary. At night there was no light or noise, so we slept very well. There are many tables for eating, one of them covered, barbecues for grilling, swings, a football pitch and an immaculate toilet. Many thanks to Copponex for this place.
We spent a quiet night here while passing through. Since the church bells only start at 7, they didn’t disturb us. Waste disposal available; we’d gladly return for one night. I felt very safe.
We parked directly in the town hall square; we didn’t really notice the church bells. A bakery is around the corner and there is a playground opposite. We felt safe. Many thanks to the town.
Thank you very much for this perfect parking spot for spending a night. Bakery nearby (unfortunately closed when we visited), and a food truck on Thursday evening. The only minor drawback is the church bells, but they stop from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Very good, quiet place, bakery just a stone’s throw away and a nice playground for the children. We had a good night.
Very nice spot next to the church (the bells are relatively loud, but they didn’t bother us), extremely close to the motorway. Since we arrived after dark, we parked in the square in front of the church, directly opposite the bakery—there would actually have been much more space BEHIND the church. At 7:30 we had to leave because a local food truck wanted to park there.
Quiet place to spend the night. From 7 in the morning, construction starts right next door and you can hear the noise.
The place is fine. Quiet at night, with a park for children to play in. A toilet in good condition, plus a place for barbecues and playing pétanque. The downside is that the church bells ring until 11 p.m. And they ring again at 7 a.m., even louder. Impossible to keep sleeping.
Great parking area and very quiet.
Very pleasant, quiet place for one night. Our children had great fun in the playground. Convenient that there is a toilet and rubbish bins. We were woken by the construction next to the parking area, and it was also the municipal grounds crew’s mowing day. Nevertheless, highly recommended, and thank you for this free place!
Quiet and perfect on a Friday evening. No construction work on Saturday. The children’s playground is great, and there are toilets and water. The lights are switched off at night from 10 p.m., and the church bells start ringing at 7 a.m.
Since there is currently a major construction site, it is very noisy here and there is little parking space!
Spent a great night near the gravel square. Quiet, with a lovely playground for children and picnic tables. Top-notch, thanks to the municipality.
Great place to sleep, with a small bakery and supermarket right next door.
Perfect place to sleep. As the comment below says, there is a dirt parking area 50 m away that is even quieter. 100% recommended.
