Been here?
This parking area beside the port offers views over Saint-Jean-de-Luz Bay, nearby beaches, restaurants, shops, and the Fort of Socoa. It is free from 19h to 9h, while daytime parking is charged, with one recent stay costing 9 euro 35. The area is generally calm overnight and has toilets, bins, and video surveillance, but no shade. A 2m barrier excludes taller vehicles.

Quiet and secure parking area (video surveillance). Toilets at the entrance to the parking area. A small supermarket, restaurants and beach huts nearby. I spent 2 nights there, with 3–4 vans each time. The only drawback is the lack of shade. You can find water by going up the canal on the same side, 50 metres after the bridge (near the “Shaurma” snack bar, which I highly recommend!).
Arrived late and stayed for 1 night. There was only 1 other van but it was okay. The toilet is not so clean but its fine
Very practical spot whatever the season! It is still a parking area, but there are many spaces, a beautiful view over Saint-Jean-de-Luz Bay, restaurants and the beach right nearby. Quiet and the locals are very kind.
The parking area is right next to the port, very quiet from 10 p.m. onward. Be careful, the toilets could not be locked.
Very good parking area, ocean view, free from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. and well located. Close to several restaurants, the beach and Socoa Fort. Be careful, there is a 2 m height barrier.
We spent the night there from Saturday to Sunday. Pedestrians passed by until 11 p.m.; the night was very quiet. Close to beaches and shops. We left at 5 p.m. We paid €9.35. Paid from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first half-hour is free. 2 m barrier.
Very beautiful view, free at night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Quiet in terms of noise, but many pedestrians pass by and linger there. The parking area gradually empties from around 10:30 p.m.
There are spaces, but vehicles under 2 m only...
Great spot on Saint-Jean-de-Luz Bay! Very beautiful view, quiet, secure, with a bin nearby! Free at night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. :)
The locals complain about the lack of respect for the environment; some people urinate around the area.
Very pleasant place. Near a lovely beach where we were able to swim in the evening. Shops nearby.
Just as described. During the day it is a fairly full paid car park for visiting the beaches in the area; after dinner time it empties almost completely. The silence and sound of the sea are wonderful, even though it is not right on the seafront.
We spent the night in this parking area, as described: 2 m barriers, free from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., then paid from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. (€1.70/hour or about €17 per day). Quick access to the beach, shops nearby (Carrefour Express, bakery, restaurant, café, etc.). Bins in the parking area. A few vans present, but a quiet night (only the sound of the waves).
We spent 2 nights there with other vans. 2 m barrier, toilets, restaurants; don’t leave without going to see the sunset at the fort. Arrived at 6:40 p.m. and left before 9 a.m., so parking was free.
We spent a few weekends there in March. Fairly quiet, with walks to enjoy.
Great for visiting the town in the morning; we had a very good, quiet night in April 2025.
