Gravel lakeside parking by Thun's marina, popular for overnighting despite a "no camping" sign that mainly means no tables or awnings. Costs about 4-5 CHF for 24 hours, payable by machine or app; inspectors do check. Clean public toilets are nearby, and free WiFi reaches from a neighbouring hotel. Generally quiet at night, though it can fill up on warm days or during events, and occasional noisy groups gather near the marina benches. It's a level, easy-access spot beside the lake and adjoining swimming pool, roughly 20-40 minutes' walk into central Thun.

Good parking area; a fixed sign says camping is prohibited, but the mobile app allows it for one night. So just check. Otherwise, a good parking area with a swimming pool next door.
Excellent car park. You can sleep here, but camping is not allowed! Inspectors come around to check whether you have paid.
Large parking lot and easy access. Pay machine wasn't working so we had to use the app instead. 40 minute walk to the old town.
Definitely okay to stay for 24 hours. Toilets and a fountain very nearby. An inspector checks tickets. Free Wi-Fi from the hotel too.
It say no camping but that mean don’t set up camping gear . Still you can sleep here . Its for 24hours. What you do in your car no one care. Lot of locals sleep here in campers as well
Cheap and very good for parking during the day and sleeping. €4 per day. Swimming pool and lake next door. Overnight stays are allowed. There is no prohibition sign.
"No camping" doesn't mean you cannot overnight here! What you do in your vehicle is of nobody's business. Just don't bring out camping gear.
OCT’24 the sign above the parking meter has been updated to say camping forbidden. The other parking areas around the marina have no restrictions like this one so we moved to one of those. It’s also being used for boat storage, similar to the one directly opposite (between the marina and sports field).
Good location and probably quieter than the other place on the opposite side of the marina. However, parking is currently prohibited. Temporary prohibition signs without a specified date.
Gravel parking area. Do not park along the marina, as young people deliberately come to make noise for much of the night, sitting on the benches. Bus-stop toilets nearby, open 24/7. Clean and heated. In Thun, you pay CHF 4.60 for 10 minutes or 24 hours.
We stayed here for one night and paid €4. The number 1 bus stop is 100 m away and takes you to the centre and the castle. Recommended even though there are no services.
Very quiet night. Cheap. A few shaded spaces during the day.
Very good place to sleep or stay during the day. You can also go canoeing or paddleboarding (if you have your own equipment). The parking area is directly beside the small harbour, with a launching and landing pontoon. A beach is 100 m away. It is a 20–30 minute walk into town.
