Free grass parking, railway noise

Five stars because you get exactly what is described. Uncomplicated parking on a strip of grass. Very peaceful. If you are self-sufficient, you can stay here wonderfully.✦Translating

A great place for a stopover. We spent one night there on the way to Italy. It was pleasantly quiet, although we occasionally heard the nearby railway line, and the motorway could also be heard if listening carefully. The view of the castle and the chirping crickets made up for it. It was very clean too. We felt safe.✦Translating

Beautiful meadow on the edge of the sports grounds. Depending on the parking direction, you can hear the motorway at night. Suitable for a stopover.✦Translating

The site is surrounded by meadows, and a small train runs nearby. When we were there it was dry, but the grass surface could become very soft when wet. Some larger motorhomes were parked across the usual direction, although they could certainly have parked lengthwise. People with large motorhomes should not occupy more space than necessary.✦Translating

Nice free spot. Unfortunately, I discovered that some motorhome owner simply threw cigarette butts (about 25) onto the grass. Incredibly inconsiderate.✦Translating

We used the spot for an overnight stop. Despite arriving late, there were still many free spaces. It is in a quiet location without a through road. Only the distant motorway and railway line can be heard faintly. Parking is on a freshly mown, firm lawn. We can recommend the place without reservation.✦Translating

Old man in a car went after us just after we parked there. Blocked our way out and photographed our car, it felt very uncomfortable. We were all alone so decided to leave. Felt really unsafe. Would not recommend.

We have stayed here several times for one night as a stopover and love it! Relatively quiet despite being close to the motorway. Nice pitches on the grass and very idyllic for a short walk with the dog. Thanks to the town for this great parking area :-)✦Translating

Unfortunately, we were here only for a stopover/longer break, but we were still thoroughly impressed. Thank you for such a great free place! There is a sports field opposite, so be prepared for it to be used occasionally, but logically that will not be permanent. If we are ever nearby again, we will definitely come back.✦Translating

Great for an overnight stay near the A7. Signposted, spacious grassy pitches, very nice (the ruins are illuminated at night), quiet, and free! Oberthulba, with a petrol station, a delicious bakery, and supermarkets, is 10 minutes away. Excellent!✦Translating

The site is level, divided into pitches, quiet, free, and has a view of Trimburg. But it is in the middle of nowhere outside Elfershausen. More suitable as a stopover.✦Translating

Top spot, as described, maximum three nights permitted. Level, next to a sports field. We spent a very quiet night there today with our one-year-old. At the beginning of the road there is a sign saying “camping and sleeping outdoors prohibited,” but at the designated meadow there is the sign shown in the pictures here. Thanks for providing places like this!
