D113 au col de la Hourquette d'Ancizan, 65440, Ancizan
Been here?
A roadside parking area used for walks to Lac d'Arou, with spectacular mountain scenery, forests, pasture and occasional streams. Parking is prohibited from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and vehicles must not park farther into the summer pasture; another similar car park is 100 m before the pass. Access from the Ancizan side is steep and narrow, with few spaces at the pass.

Access to Lake Payolle, with spectacular views from the pass; it is well worth it, but be careful on the ascent from Cuchen via the D30 and D113. These are very narrow roads with no emergency passing areas for crossing other vehicles, although traffic is usually light in the low season. Watch out for cyclists descending through the bends. The route via Aspen Pass may be less narrow.
Gorgeous road to drive and lots of spots to stop during the day for a picnic. Very scenic, forestry and pasture with small streams
Superb sunset over Pic du Midi... All the pitches from La Hourquette towards Payolle have a beautiful sign saying motorhomes are prohibited from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Are we allowed to park? ;)
