Been here?
A large, free 24-hour car park belonging to the tank museum, suitable for an overnight stay. There are no supply or disposal services apart from rubbish bins, but vehicles can park in sun or shade on grass, gravel or asphalt. The night is generally quiet, although weekday morning traffic and sounds from the nearby military training area may be noticeable. The museum and nearby shops are within walking distance.

We spent one night here during Bundeswehr Day. The night was quiet and restful, the site had been freshly mown, and it was free of charge.
Free place without emptying or filling facilities. Clean and enough space to park in the shade or sun (solar power). We had asked at the museum beforehand and received further tips. Very friendly staff.
A really great, clean and quiet parking area. We stayed for one night to visit the tank museum. Famila (with very clean toilets, including an accessible one), Lidl and other shops are within walking distance. There are no emptying or filling facilities, apart from rubbish bins. That didn’t bother us. Thanks for providing this overnight option.
Parking for visiting the museum, very good, no services; overnight stays are permitted.
Free, quiet spot, ok for a night before visiting the Panzer museum (which is the best tank museum in the region). When the museum opens the place is getting pretty crowdy and it might be hard to maneuver.
Excellent place to park ready for the museum. There are three parking areas on this side of the road opposite the museum, more car spaces directly in front of the exhibition halls. the ones either end suit longer vehicles, though one specifies coaches.
I stayed for one night. No disturbances. Little traffic in the evening, but somewhat louder in the morning during the week because of commuter traffic. You can hear the artillery from the nearby military training area. I always found a shady spot under the hedges and trees along the edge of the car park. The tank museum is absolutely worth seeing.
Beautiful, spacious free pitches on grass, gravel or asphalt at the tank museum. The trees make it wonderfully idyllic.
The parking area was too small for our motorhome, which was 8 metres long and 3.33 metres high. That’s why we parked in the bus area.
That was a very relaxed night in the grass car park. There were also two motorhomes in the front car park. Visiting the museum was the starting point, but we also unloaded the motorcycle and took a small moped tour through the heath. A great opportunity for an autonomous one-night stay.
wow don't miss hundreds of tanks presented in great condition. museum very busy on Sunday in July. but worth it. possible to stay overnight in the car park. the car parks are completely full during the middle of the day. come super early or after they close. quiet nights sleep. Lidl is super close. Also well priced petrol right next door.
