Fjord parking, heavy traffic noise

Perfect stop to see the swords by the water. Our parking area is used by a strawberry seller (please respect her space). We spent one night and, unsurprisingly, it was noisy because of the nearby road. Still ideal because it is free and close to Stavanger.✦Translating

Large pallets marked “no parking” prevented us from parking. I think the locals don’t want motorhomes staying overnight; some people had parked there anyway. We continued on our way.✦Translating

Really a small, narrow car park. We were lucky and could stay for 60 minutes to see the swords. We would not want to spend the night here because of the huge amount of traffic.✦Translating

Simple stop to “visit” the swords. 800 m along a pedestrian path, very pleasant. Motorhomes are parked in the car park opposite the swords, and there was nobody there! The road is certainly too busy for an overnight rest...✦Translating

Free, unrestricted car park for several motorhomes or cars. Very suitable for a short stop to visit the monument. You park directly by the water and walk there in no more than five minutes, with a beautiful view of the swords.✦Translating

This place is fine to stop at if you just want to visit the swords in rock or do the coastal walk. Definitely not recommended for overnight parking.

A very beautiful place, but unfortunately the address is wrong. The stated address leads to the residential area one street higher. The correct address is Madlaveien; the space by the lake is on the Hafrsfjord Seaside Promenade. We arrived here at 10:30 a.m. on a Wednesday, and there was still room for another two or three motorhomes.✦Translating

We rather do not recommend it: a car park beside a busy road. The only luxury here is a rubbish bin.✦Translating

We went to what others are calling "the better spot" ..as this carpark was full. It is easier to park a motorhome (were 7.5m) at the other spot. Closer to walk to Sverd i fjell and around the headland etc. it is not for overnight camping though..
