The place would be fine, but 400 NOK if you want to stay overnight is simply outrageous (you could also call it a rip-off). We drove away—like so many others.
Overnight stays forbidden. Daytime parking 200 NOK. Starting point for the Gaustatoppen tourist hiking route.
Camping currently forbidden. Only daytime parking.
Just because you don't want to look at the parking meter by the information point doesn't mean the parking lot is free. Good spot with a great view. But it costs 200 NOK per 24 “Norwegian” hours, i.e. from 00:00 to 23:59. So if you stay overnight, you owe 2 × 200 NOK, 400 NOK in total, which is definitely too much for a normal parking space and a toilet. Pay attention to the parking meter!
Beautiful place with toilets; entering your license plate number is required, and it is not free! 200 NOK/24 hours. Coffee and information are open today. This is the situation today.
Currently free. Very good place to stay overnight.
Currently no fees. We stayed for 24 hours; it was very quiet, with a great view and excellent starting points for hiking. Toilet accessible outside the shop.
Currently free! Shop closed, toilets available. Great view and good hiking opportunities. Level parking lot; leveling blocks not needed. Clean toilet—I don't understand the many poor reviews or entitled attitudes.
The place is being renovated, so it is currently free. No cameras or parking meters available.
Right now is free, beautifull spot. Crazy winds tho had to turn my van with the nose into the wind in the middle of the night bc wind was shaking me around ahha. Also they are building something right now so today (monday) worker started at 08;00 with a crane making a lot of noice.
in june right now there are no cameras, but also no toilets. perfect spot anyway to do the Gaustatoppen hike. had a very quiet night
Ridiculously expensive car park 300 NOK for motorhomes. We drove into the car park without properly reading the signs (missed the Gaustabanen parking). Weather turned awful and we decided to leave after 30 mins lunch finding ourselves having to pay 300 NOK!!
Nice parking but prices have been doubled compared to earlier mentioned prices. 300 NOK for a camping car for the day and 600 NOK if you want to stay overnight.
Asphalt parking lot. Container with toilets. Camera system captures licence plate. Daily parking rate (00-24h), no overnight rate (so staying overnight costs two days). 300 NOK for camper van, 150 for car. Free shuttle service stops here as well.
Really nice view, but a little expensive if you want to stay overnight here (300 kr).
Toilet right outside the door, but no washbasin—or I didn't see one. Wonderful view. I enjoyed the hike. Perhaps a little monotonous at first glance, but an observant eye keeps noticing details, such as the ring ouzel.
