1 Fritz-Berger-Straße, 92318, Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz
Been here?
This free motorhome area at the Fritz Berger store provides supply and disposal facilities beside a large camping shop, near the forest and 2 km from Neumarkt. Electricity is no longer available, while recent reports confirm free water and toilet disposal. The barrier is open only during business hours; vehicles inside after Saturday 18.00 may be trapped until Monday 09.00, although it has sometimes remained open. Traffic from the nearby motorway access road can be heard, especially during the day, and dogs are welcome.

Very convenient area. Well worth it. Excellent facilities.
Wastewater, water, space for everyone. Just racists—and nobody needs them, like some commenters here.
Stayed for one night, nothing to complain about! Even during closing hours there was enough space for around 10 motorhomes. Great! Perfect for a stopover!
Many thanks to Fritz Berger for this pitch. Close to the motorway, free of charge. Perfect for passing through. When we were there, every space was occupied in the evening. There were a few fewer because someone had parked very stupidly with a car trailer next to a motorhome. The barrier closed around 10 p.m. and was open at 7 a.m. The shop staff were very friendly and helpful.
Thanks to the Berger shop for the parking area with all the services. We shopped in the store; it has everything to make motorhome owners happy. The only problem, but an important one, is the road with an uninterrupted flow of traffic.
Ideal stopover after a long drive. Thanks to Fritz Berger for the free facilities! The nearby motorway is very busy during the day, but it is manageable at night. Earplugs for light sleepers.
We stayed one night from Saturday to Sunday. On Sunday morning, it was no problem to leave; the barrier had not been lowered at all. We emptied the toilet and wastewater, and also filled our fresh-water tank. The facilities are excellent, and many thanks to the company for providing this free of charge. It certainly won’t be our last visit.
Perfect pitch for passing through. Clean, with free electricity and water/waste disposal. The barrier was even open after closing time during the week. You have to expect road noise, as it is located by a motorway access road.
Clean pitch. Free electricity and water. The disposal station has been repaired and works perfectly. Dogs are welcome. Since the pitch is within earshot of a busy country road, you should expect passing vehicles at night.
Everything great. The barrier was already opened at 6:00 a.m.
How bleak. The gray-water drain is blocked with a pallet and stones. Power connections are locked and the water is turned off. I will delete my Fritz Berger customer account. There are enough other providers.
There are motorhome owners here who rinse their toilet cassettes at the drinking-water connection—disgusting. The ground drain has collapsed and is barely usable for gray water. Not a good advertisement for Fritz Berger.
Unfortunately, the service station is showing its age. The ground drain is broken, so be careful when driving over it.
A lovely place. Thanks to Berger. Shopping at the Berger store was a matter of course for us. Unfortunately, the road traffic is very loud, making a good night’s sleep almost impossible.
We spent one night here, and for a free place there is nothing to complain about. There is even a bistro. Thanks to Fritz Berger!!!
We came here to fill up with water, dispose of waste, and use the electricity. Everything is free. A very nice pitch, unfortunately right by the road and therefore very loud, so we would not spend the night here. One star deducted for that. Thanks to Berger! Tip: You need adapters to fill fresh water at the stations.
We stayed one night in front of the barrier. Thanks, Fritz Berger. There is no way out via the fire-brigade exit around the warehouse; there are two more barriers there. The parking area is beside a very busy road.
It is always astonishing that there are “campers” who presume to criticize free places. Please just go to an official campsite and pay! A big thank-you to Fritz Berger! It’s unbelievable that more and more people don’t master the German language and use the word “racist” completely out of context.
Spacious pitch with water and waste disposal. There are electricity boxes, some of which are locked. The barrier is open only during opening hours. If necessary, you can drive around the warehouse and exit near the forest via the fire lane.
We were there for just one night. If we had known how loud this place would be due to truck traffic between the motorway and the main road at night and early in the morning, we would have parked somewhere else. Of course it is free, with free water and waste disposal, but it is not exactly beautiful. The disposal facilities are also very old.
Fresh-water filling and gray-water drainage. Black-water emptying is possible (the cleaning tap is inconvenient). There is a waste container.
A very sweet little place. You can stay either behind the barrier or in front of it. The main road runs directly in front, so it can get a little noisy at night. Apparently there is also some tradition where people sometimes honk constantly when driving past the Berger parking area :D Maybe they dislike campers. Good place for one night :)
Huge parking area with services, benches and tables, and lots of space beside the motorhome shop. Thank you!
Anyone expecting a beautifully landscaped campsite is obviously in the wrong place. It is a free parking area beside a main road, with free (!) services. It would be too noisy for me at night, but perfect for a service stop. Thanks for that! There is a large sign at the barrier stating that it is open only during opening hours. That way, nobody has to be deprived of their freedom ;)
The place looked sad. All the grass and trees were all died. Didn’t stay. Although the Berger shop was good variety of camping stuff.
Poor service. There are four electricity posts, three of which are locked and one is overloaded. I went inside to ask, and the man simply said, “tough luck”; the locked ones would remain locked. Really bullshit—then remove them... I bought something for my camper in that shop and already regret it. They will never see me here again. Regards, Hans
We spent a few hours here after shopping and emptied the black-water tank. The main road is clearly audible. The electricity connection works. There are also two picnic areas.
After discussing it with them, we were allowed to leave our motorhome there for five days while doing the Five Rivers cycling tour. Many thanks to Berger.
Thanks to Berger for the free overnight stay. A clean and well-maintained pitch with everything needed for one night. We would gladly return anytime!!
Thanks for the free overnight stay. If the main road bothers you, you can complain to the noisy drivers. Anyone who can read will not be deprived of their freedom. Unfortunately, I cannot understand comments like these. There are expensive campsites for everyone too.
A good and free overnight option near the motorway. The toilets are accessible during business hours. Unfortunately, the busy main road is very loud. It feels as if the cars are driving through the motorhome. The signs clearly state that the barrier is locked after closing time and that you should choose a space in front of it.
Prisoners of Fritz Berger!! We were shopping at Berger on Wednesday evening and parked on the pitch to rest overnight. The next morning we wanted to continue our journey. Unfortunately, the barrier was locked because it was a public holiday. This borders on unlawful imprisonment. Never again!!!
Thanks for the free pitch, although I think it is a shame that many electricity connections were locked. Unfortunately, we could not use electricity, and several others were in the same situation. Only eight spaces were unlocked. Sadly, even the friendly attendant who closed the barrier did not have the right key. The night was very noisy because of the traffic running alongside.
Thanks to Camping Berger for the free service. Good pitch for relaxing. You can hear the road, but it is quieter than at a motorway rest area. The barrier was already closed when we arrived, but there are at least 10 spaces available in front of it. Everything else matches the descriptions!
In “PARADISE” at Camping Berger, where free electricity and water flow, you sleep protected as if in “Abraham’s bosom”! A technical “land of plenty” for camper hearts; a walk-in catalogue and a year-round experience for motorhome owners! The little bistro invites you for breakfast and other treats. Among other things, I found spare parts for our water system. THANK YOU!
Great for passing through! We were on our way to Vienna and arrived at the pitch at night. There was still a space available in front of the barrier, so we could arrive outside opening hours.
Truly free services: electricity, water, and waste disposal. Perfect, very convenient, and the shop really has lots of things for the van.
