Quiet lay-by, difficult access

What a place. Outstanding views, very quiet at night and the wildlife comes to life as it goes dark. Owls Owling which is great. The place was tidy although the remains of a fire were left. Roads getting here were sketchy but I am in a 7.5m van. No signal at all - Starlink to the rescue!

Great spot for 2 vans max. Other places along this single track road that are also suitable but none have any 02 signal. Great walks all around. Please don't leave mess or poo. It will ruin it for all of us. Even the smallest van can fit a boxio toilet.

Gorgeous spot but unfortunately people seem to be using it as a place to dump their toilet waste and it stank of urine, as well as people who had previously had campfires and left half burnt cans, plastic bottles and nails everywhere. FYI this is not a place to dump your toilet

great park up, arrived late and had it to ourselves. people started arriving to park up for hikes around 9am.

A wonderful place to spend one night. You can start walking straight from here through beautiful countryside. However, the roads are very narrow, so smaller cars are definitely more comfortable. It is also manageable by motorhome.

Spent a lovely evening in this spot, literally an ideal set up with the only downfall being the attack from the midgeys! Haha. Few fellow tent boxers drove passed but other than that and a cyclist we had the place to ourselves. If you walk back up the road there’s a gate where you can also get down to the lake which my son and I took the dinghy out!

Great spot, very quiet road, lots of walks nearby, no signal, space for two vans, mostly grass and almost level.

Highly recommend this spot, fantastic location on a quiet road and perfectly positioned for various mountain hikes in the morning. We didn’t actually park here as unfortunately someone arrived first but we found another similarly beautiful spot 0.5km along the road suitable for 2 VW type vans

Highly recommended this spot , be aware there is zero phone service so definitely be prepared if thats something you need or for emergencies. We unfortunately had a flat tire so definitely made the trip interesting but where able to sort it out. Lovely area for a walk and the views are amazing. 2-3 Camper-vans can fit easy. We stayed for one night no issues very peaceful.

Good quiet location and a perfect free parking spot for my walk. It’s very out of the way and there’s not much around, so it depends on whether that’s what you’re looking for. I thought the views were not as amazing as expected, partly because the water level at the bottom end of the lake was so low.

Stunning location, peaceful night and a great walk the next day
