Been here?
A large nature-side parking area near Kloster Graefenthal, its café, the Niers and woodland, with plenty of room when no monastery event is taking place. The area is suitable for quiet overnight stays, walking and cycling, and a lake is nearby for swimming. There are no toilets or showers, and visitors report that bins are lacking. Some sections are level while others are inclined.

Absolutely fantastic! Lovely swimming water nearby, and the Klosterthal Café is excellent.
Beautiful place in nature. The monastery is lovely to visit. There are a few campers. The town is within cycling distance, and the surrounding area is worth exploring on foot.
Lots of space, provided there is no event at the monastery. The café is highly recommended. Very tasty food and friendly service. Excellent for walks. Unfortunately, there are no rubbish bins (where are dog owners supposed to put their bags?).
Super beautiful! Great hiking trails and the lake is right nearby.
Definitely a beautiful place to spend the night. You can walk along the water and visit the monastery. We spent a quiet evening here.
Perfect for one night, very quiet and lots of space. The monastery café was closed when we arrived. No toilet or shower, but still recommended.
Nice and calm spot, like others said. Some parts are nice and flat, others inclined. Check out the monastery, really cool. You can drink coffee there and there are peacocks and all sorts of chicken and strange ducks walking about. I didn't see any garbage bin so it's best to take it with you. Yeah maybe inside the grounds of the monastery but you'd be really lame to do it there...
What a beautiful place, and thanks to the owners for allowing us to spend the night here. It was quiet at night. You can take wonderful walks with the dogs. The locals who come here do the same.
Peaceful and beautiful car park. We were there alone for one night. In my opinion, there is room for more than seven pitches.
Peaceful place: swimming, jogging, walking and cycling are all possible. There is even a sauna, indoor pool and outdoor pool nearby. Directly next to the former monastery (with café) and close to the Reichswald. Restaurants and a bakery in Asperden, 3 km away. Lit at night. What more could you want?
quiet, plenty of space. there is a lake in walkable distance (to the right of the top of the parking lot), which our dogs swam in. many locals there until evening. we also took the bikes and showered at Goch ness Pool using the 1hr sprint deal (3.90 euro) and the waterslide was great!
A nice place to stay. Especially worthwhile if you have dogs. You can enjoy walking with them and let them swim. The downside is all the dog-waste bags left in the car park after a summer day.
Beautiful place for a night or for going to a concert at the Veltins Arena (2 km); it is best to have a bicycle. The cycle paths are perfect, and there is a Lidl and fast-food restaurant along the way.
Beautifully situated, with lots of leisure opportunities. The monastery café is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for refreshments.
If there are no activities scheduled, you can stay here comfortably. You can check this information on Google. Beautiful walks and various cycling routes. Plenty of small lakes that are wonderfully refreshing in good weather. No facilities; we stayed for three nights. Lovely and peaceful, with only the birds.
Even though it was the weekend and the weather was nice, the monastery’s grassy parking area remained practically empty overnight. The night was quiet and peaceful. In the morning, a few people arrived to walk their four-legged friends.
We stayed here for two nights. We had peaceful nights. We took beautiful walks and bike rides through the Reichswald.
