54 Place de la Libération, 86310, Saint-Savin
Been here?
Parking in front of Saint-Savin Abbey, along a tree-lined square. It is shaded and convenient for visiting the abbey and its frescoes, which takes 1 to 2 hours. The area is somewhat visible, and access streets are limited to 3.5t. Daytime stops with a table and chairs are possible, but larger motorhomes may find the one-way streets and weight restrictions difficult.

We came during the day and put our rooftop tent out to dry because the dew had soaked it. Nobody said anything, so we brought out the table and chairs and cooked—perfect for a daytime stop.
In front of the car park, a little exposed to everyone’s view, but why not.
Shaded car park, perfect for visiting the abbey, and very accessible for a van.
Difficult with a motorhome. One-way streets, some of them closed to vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. We were lucky that there was space. Better to use the pitch behind the bridge and walk the rest of the way. The abbey is fantastic, though!
