This quiet parking area near Almsee offers mountain views and access to the round-lake walking route. Recent stays of one night were calm, with the lake about 20minutes away on foot and a 9.5km full loop available. A nearby river and concrete squares provide simple outdoor space, and parking is free. The road can become busy during the day, while overnight stays have recently been reported as possible.

nice parking, spent one night there and all good.
Nice and calm parking, surprisingly empty even in summer. The lake is amazingly beautiful. Only 20minutes walk to the lake which also offers really nice views when approaching (not visible from lake itself). So it's a nice hike from here (9.5km full loop if ending here). Nice river just few steps away which has multilple deep spots for full dip in hot day.
We spent one night here and it was very calm and peaceful. We slept really well. Two other cars stayed overnight too. Near the parking area there are concrete squares where we set up our table and cooked. The lake is not far, but I recommend driving to the official parking lot at the end of the road (5€ day). From there you can walk further back. The area is beautiful.

We stayed for one night. A beautiful wildlife park with animals is a short distance from the parking area. The parking area was quiet and empty; only two other cars were there with us. No cars passed after 10 o'clock. Great place for one night.Translating

Stayed for 3 nights, wonderfully peaceful. A few cars now and then. A little river nearby for a refreshing morning swim. Beautiful walk along the lake. Recommended!Translating
