Sommartel, 2314, La Sagne
Been here?
Quiet forest clearing near La Sagne (Sommartel) with wide flat parking, sunrise/sunset views and cow bells for company; auberge Grand Sommartel serves food 200m away and is open year-round. Access road is narrow and winding, tricky for larger motorhomes to cross other traffic, though vehicles up to about 6.7m manage it. Ask permission during weekends since the restaurant/nearby house tolerates weekday stays but is stricter then; occasionally blocked entirely for a local event. Popular with hikers and mountain bikers passing through.

Great spot! Please take good care of it so others can enjoy it too :) The restaurant next door is excellent, with great rösti and wonderfully attentive service. Highly recommended!
Warning: motorhomes should only approach from La Sagne. Otherwise Google directs you via a steep gravel road.
WARNING: no spaces available on Saturday, August 19, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. due to an event.
Great place ✨ very quiet.
Very quiet place to spend the night, with a lovely view of the surrounding area. Excellent!
Everything tip-top! Nothing going on during the week in autumn.
Great place for a night and a fondu in the auberge. The auberge is open all year. You need to check the weather before venturing up there. We stayed one night, parked on the concrete by permission of the restaurant. They said during the week this is OK but not weekends. Then you would park a little further on past the stone gate posts. Narrow way up single track, but OK in our 6.7mtr motorhome.
Very beautiful, flat spot in the middle of nature with a lovely view, quiet and free from noise apart from the cows’ bells. The icing on the cake is the Grand Sommartel inn right next door. It’s a little gem to discover, with a lovely menu and very friendly owners.
