Motorhome bays, evening noise

I have stayed here so many times, but the entire car park is full of motorhomes tonight and I suspect it will be stopped as a stop shortly because of locals being forced to leave because of no space.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting family in Kennington. Great location. Walking distance to town and all local shops and pubs. We even caught the farmers market.

Great little park up. Arrived late (9.30pm) and there were already 4 other motorhomes here in the larger bays. We just parked alongside them, not an official bay but signing doesnt say must be in motorhome bay and made sure we still were only taking up 1 bay. Nice and quiet, would recommend

Stayed here twice now it cost £10 during the week and £5 on a Sunday night, nice little park up for up to 5 vans. No facilities but there’s a public WC and local shops, restaurants are close by plus a nice walk along the canal.

Stayed here Friday and Saturday night. What a fantastic location. Didn’t realise just how close to the town it was, it’s like a 5 minute walk ! Car park is pretty level and a view of the Thames. The only down side is there are only 4 spaces. Abingdon itself has loads of pubs and restaurants and is really nice over all. Certainly recommend a visit.

it's £10 a night for a designated motorhome place. max 3 nights. Handy for visiting the town.

Great for visiting the town, lovely walks along the river and to the medieval gardens. Waitrose close by too. The only problem we had was the constant road noise. Slightly quieter from 1am - 5am. Probably would not stay again due to road.

Good spot for an overnight stay, quiet and with plenty of spaces. A few other campers were parked up for the night too. The 20p toilets were working and clean!

Reasonable price: £10/day, maximum three days. Facilities: public toilets (20p). Lovely place. A short walk away, you can catch the bus directly to Oxford city centre.

You can actually stay here for 3 nights max now and it’s £10 per 24 hours. We only parked up for an hour for free but Abingdon is lovely and there are some great walks to be had along the Thames path so we will return for an overnighter.

10 mins to the shops, 1 minute to the Thames and its riverside pubs. Lovely of the council to provide this for campervans and motorhomes (£10/24hrs). The road is busy and locals coming in and out to take advantage of the 1hr free car parking but this quietened down to almost nothing at night.

Loved this spot - right by the Thames, a little traffic noise but no massive issue, Abingdon is lovely and well worth a visit with bags of history - great museum as well. Loos are 20p a visit unless you have a RADAR key. There is a good water supply at ///twice.kept.tower if you need, but you’ll need to park up close and carry containers if you need to fill a tank like we did.

excellent, idyllic location right in the Thames. £10 for up to 24 hours, maximum stay of 72 hours. There are some lovely pubs on the river nearby. A little bit of traffic noise.

Great place, very pretty little town with many dining options within walking distance of the car park, plus a small Spar and a playground behind the abbey.

Well done Vale of White Horse District Council for providing 4 large campervan bays close to town. £10 for 24 hours not unreasonable. Toilets are 20p tap and pay card only, & clean, but in common with many council public toilets are only open daytimes. They really could provide a tap, sewer access point for black water, and a bin for the price! Great starting point for Thames bank walks.

We stop here a lot as our daughter lives in town but please note from Apr 24, the tariffs have changed. It’s now £10 per motorhome per 24 hours (max 3 days). There is no longer any free period or part day charging for Motorhomes, so if you park here for 2 hours in the afternoon for a visit, it is still £10!! Also, Motorhomes are now defined as any vehicle with the ability to sleep! WC now fixed!!

Stayed here last week - toilets closed due to vandalism, which isn’t a good sign. Plenty of places to eat/drink nearby. Heavy morning traffic into town in the morning (one way system). I’d recommend breakfast at the Tesco Extra back towards the A34.

Great car park with 4 large parking bays for motorhomes. Free parking 6pm to 8am and you can schedule your parking on the app to start at 8am if you know you won’t be out in time you don’t need to set an early alarm. Fairly quiet considering close proximity to road. Great 4G on EE. Toilet 20p contactless (working) or radar key (untested)

Nice spot, convenient for river walks and pretty town. Road a bit noisy. Parking machine hit and miss/confusing. Campervans can stay 24 hours for £7, max 3 days, or free between 6pm-8am. Normal day rates apply outside these hours. 4 MH bays, but were told to use any if full, when we phoned number on the board.

Nice spot in a lovely town! Prices have changed, it's only free for the first hour now. Still free from 6pm to 8am. Ticket machine not working so you have to use an app or call the number.

Staying here for the second time. It would be the perfect place if only I could work the ticket machine. Needless to say I didn't have the correct app, out of the six already on my phone. Handy for the town with all its pubs and restaurants and a pretty river walk.
