We arrived on Saturday evening and there was space by the riverbank. We left on Monday: two relatively quiet nights for a large city centre. 20 minutes on foot from Fourvière or Vieux Lyon, and similarly by bike from Parc de la Tête d'Or via the tunnel. No facilities; you need to be self-sufficient.
