Been here?
Three large free car parks on Route des Crêtes at Col du Markstein offering Vosges views, mostly flat terrain, no height limits. Quiet at night; very noisy during daytime (motorcycles, races, events) until about 8 pm. Toilets open when attractions operate. Good hiking starting point; summer luge, ski resort, farm restaurants nearby. Windy; crowded weekends.

Short stop in the parking area, with beautiful views of the Vosges.Translating
A mixed experience. I happened to arrive on the evening when the bar was throwing a party, with the bass turned up full blast. At 4 a.m. it was still lively. 95% of the customers were respectful; a minority played loud music in their cars, skidded around or screamed like maniacs. I found it funny, but keep an eye on what is happening at the bar, just in case :) Otherwise, it really is a great spot!Translating
Very large, almost flat parking area with a great view, plenty of hikes, quiet and clean, bins next to the gendarmes. Respect this place. 4G works; no terrestrial TV. Thanks to the station.Translating
Simple and quiet at night. Car parks are busy during the day.
Very quiet night, with no height barrier. Toilets accessible when the attractions are open. The alpine coaster is fun and relatively inexpensive compared with similar attractions. The natural surroundings are magnificent.Translating
Excellent — quiet night, toilet facilities were open. Great panoramic view.Translating
Large parking area and spacious surroundings, very quiet at night. The hikes around here are spectacular. A few attractions for children are nearby.Translating
It becomes quieter from early evening; until then, especially at weekends, it is quite busy. Restaurants are right nearby, and it is a starting point for many hikes.Translating
Large, almost flat parking area. Very noisy during the day due to a parade and motorcycle race; much quieter after 8 p.m. with little traffic. A very good starting point for hikes. Summer toboggan run, restaurants and farm inns nearby. We tried the Markstein farm inn, which we warmly recommend; their takeaway products are excellent.Translating
Large parking area. No one there when we visited out of season. Very quiet. Toilets above, but closed, near the summer toboggan runs.Translating
Very good parking area; there are three in a row and it is fairly flat. However, it is very windy, so choose the one closer to the resort, which is more sheltered. The tarte flambée and cheeses at the farm inn are excellent.Translating
The motorcycles are far too noisy; there is no pleasure in staying here.Translating
Either of the three spots are good. This spot is good if the prevailing wind is from the south as its protected. Good location for walks and bike rides. Quiet at night, busy in summer during the day with walkers, cyclists and people on an ego trip with two wheels . Could not locate any water source other than the toilets of the restaurants.
Very quiet place for the night. The road has little traffic after 7 p.m.Translating
