An der Hafenspitze, 31789, Hameln
Been here?
This is a spacious grassy campsite at a canoe club, directly beside the Weser and close to the Weser cycle path. Hameln’s old town is about 20 minutes away on foot, and the site has toilets, 2 showers, washing facilities, chemical-toilet disposal, water and electricity included. Access uses code 2234. The facilities can become overwhelmed and may smell, while traffic from the B1 is audible but generally not significant.

The location is great, right on the water and relatively quiet. The walk into town is easy and quick. However, as the site is also used by many canoeists and cyclists, the sanitary facilities are completely overwhelmed. Probably because they are in the basement, they smell very bad—it cannot be put more plainly. That is a shame and urgently needs to be changed.
The road there passes through a somewhat messy industrial area, but once you arrive it is a beautifully mown grassy field with spacious pitches. It is beside the water, where you can also watch the canoe club in action. The sanitary facilities (access code 2234) are tidy: two toilets and two showers, chemical-toilet disposal, and a washing-up area. The gate was open, but you must register online. The cycle bridge and path to the centre are ideal. Recommended.
Lovely place—we would happily come again. There is an option to wash dishes and take a shower, and the toilet facilities are clean and nice. Lovely walk along the Weser to the old town, within 20 minutes :)
Beautiful site on the Weser peninsula, excellent sanitary facilities, and the Weser cycle path gets you to the old town very quickly.
This has little to do with a campsite. Showers and toilets are very, very old and poorly maintained. The location is good.
Many thanks to the Hameln Canoe Club. Top service, very friendly and clean. Sanitary facilities were cleaned every day. The site is about 20 minutes from the city centre. Electricity and water on site and included. No grey-water disposal, but you can dispose of it about 2 km away at the municipal motorhome site. Lots of canoeing activity in summer, and there is a party boat next door. You might hear some Wolfgang Petry.
We liked it very much. A very beautiful place. The sanitary facilities are not luxurious, but we do not expect that either. You can hear the B1, but it is not worth mentioning, as has already been claimed here. Conclusion: simple but good. We thought it was great.
More of a motorhome site than a campsite. Located directly on the Weser cycle path, on the banks of the Weser. Within walking distance of Hameln city centre. Easy online booking. Sanitary facilities could be better maintained; apparently they were not cleaned at the weekend.
Very nice place. Pitches on grass, some with a view overlooking the river. About 20 minutes walk to the center of Hameln along the river. We will be back if we visit Hameln again.
It would really be beautiful, but ‘our site is closed from 6 October 2025 to 26 March 2026’.
Excellent, quiet spot on the Weser, almost in the city centre. Good sanitary facilities, and there is a water tap at pitch 7. Everything is digital and you receive an access code for the barrier and the sanitary facilities.
You can stay here quietly and close to the city centre. Good value for money. Sanitary facilities are basic but okay. The online booking system is practical. I would also like the option to choose a pitch. We felt comfortable. No grey-water disposal.
Problem-free advance booking. To enter the site with the vehicle, you have to enter a number code at the barrier. The keypad must be operated very precisely for the input to work. Otherwise, it does nothing. The B1 is clearly audible. At weekends, techno music from the surrounding area plays until late in the evening. Would we come again? Because of the noise, I think not.
Fantastic place, 10 minutes by bike from the centre. Everything is automated, with grass and a good atmosphere, no noise, clean bathrooms, and hot water. Highly recommended.
Very nice grass site in front of the canoe club house with a view of the Weser. Seating under trees, access code for entry and the sanitary facilities, and electricity at the pitch. With online reservations, all information is sent by email. Works perfectly! I liked the atmosphere.
Within walking distance of Hamelin. Very nice campsite. You do have to reserve online, but this can still be done in front of the gate.
Lovely green setting. Clean sanitary facilities and showers, good value for money. I recommend it.
Good location (about 20 minutes’ walk to the city centre), clean and well maintained, beautifully green. Easy booking, electricity and water included. Good sanitary facilities (except for the light timer in the women’s area—it is far too short). Fairly quiet, as there is a busy road and fire station nearby. Recommended, 4.5 stars.
great small site on edge of town. All you need on a site for a night or two. good showers and spacious pitches. Would definitely come back for more exploration of the area. Many thanks Canoe Club of Hamelin
Liked it so much stayed another night. Town is an easy walk to get to, LIDL not too far away. Campsite clean and tidy. Lots of Dragon boat canoeists around but interesting to watch. Paid via Paypal but make sure you check junk mail for the return e mail with codes.
5 stars given for cleanliness and proximity to Hameln. Payment was by bank transfer or PayPal. When we arrived someone was parked on our allocated pitch, we did telephone but no answer, another couple had the same problem. We found another pitch, but told to move the next day as it was the club members area. The original pitch we had been allocated was now available, and we did enjoy our stay.
Very nice site on a Weser island. The approach is initially alarming because it goes through an industrial area, but the site itself is quiet and green. The canoe club’s sanitary facilities can be used. Price includes electricity. You can book the site via the website in advance, but this must also be done on site. Great starting point for exploring Hameln. Showers and toilets were clean during my stay.
Some confusion with the booking as the site was in German, there is an English site but I couldn’t find it! Very quiet until the disco boats went past so a disturbed night. Right by the river so great view. Bit off putting the approach via an industrial area but fine. About 25 minutes walk into the city
Good pitches in themselves. A little strange that you first have to book online on site before you can enter, as there is no manager either. The sanitary facilities are old but otherwise fine. Four minutes by bike to Lidl for bread rolls. The price is €24 including electricity; you cannot choose without electricity, and there is no water tap or waste-water disposal.
Great location. You can get into the city quickly. The sanitary facilities are a drawback: cleanliness and equipment leave something to be desired.
Great place to relax. You can reach the old town very quickly on foot in about 20 minutes or by bike in about 8 minutes, as the cycle path is very close. Everything is included for the price, and you park on grass. The site is very level. We stayed here for three nights and were very satisfied. Don’t be alarmed: the approach goes through an industrial area, but you notice none of it here.
Very nice place. The sanitary facilities are old but okay, and the shower is wonderful. You can walk straight into the centre over the footbridge.
…thanks to the Canoe Club for this opportunity; excellent value for money.
Good campsite, 10 minutes from the beautiful town via a pedestrian/cycle bridge. Online reservation (you can also do it on site; instructions are on the sign). Keep an eye on availability. You immediately receive a code to enter and a code for the sanitary block, which is clean. You stay on grass.
Excellent location, easy bike ride to the Old Town. Toilet and showers spotless. Water accessible. Booking process is a bit complicated especially if someone decides to stay on your pitch. Took an hour of phoning and emailing to be allocated another place. Quite a lot of road noise, especially at night. Pitch 14 is the best.
Perfect location for the city centre. Excellent online booking available. Quietly situated and inexpensive. We were very satisfied and can recommend the site without reservation. P.S. Very good disposal facilities too.
Booked online! Very easy! On arrival, we used the access code that had been sent by email. Beautiful view of the water. The showers were lovely and hot! Also fairly quiet.
Lovely, quiet campsite, spacious pitches, with very good grass. Electricity and water included in the price, nice views, close to Hamelin. The only drawback is that there is no grey-water disposal, but given the space it occupies, that is impossible.
