Charlton Road, SP10 4AJ, Charlton
Been here?
A free car park beside a lake and park, with benches, fishing jetties and a pleasant walking route around the water. The nearby A343 is about 30 m away and remains busy throughout the night, so this is not a quiet overnight spot. Joggers and dog walkers arrive from around 6am. Larger vehicles may struggle to turn around if the car park is full.

It is a nice spot, but if you drive down there and the car park is full, anything bigger than a Transit MWB means reversing all the way out! We got some funny looks from walkers. We did not stay overnight, but stayed for a while in the first car park just off the main road.Translating
I liked this wee spot. we arrived in the dark but very close to a nice looking residential area so felt ok. in the morning woke to a lovely big pond and a great big park for a lovely walk. dog walkers arrived from early on and you can hear the main road even though felt like nowhere near a main road... road noises on one side amd ducks on the other. but I would still use it again! The place is very pleasant, but indeed the road is bothersome and there is quite a lot of nighttime activity. Even a police patrol! Earplugs are advisable. The walk around the pond for a morning stroll is magical.Translating
It is okay for stopping overnight. We arrived in the evening and it was very dark and empty. Parking directly by the lake. From 6 or 7 a.m. many people arrive by car to walk their dogs. The main road runs above, and you can already hear it. The lake and park are beautiful and invite you to walk. Fine for one night. Thanks for creating this spot.Translating
