Roadside viewpoint, windy overnight

Best place we have found in the area, as it’s the only one that has practically no MIDGES. It’s quite windy, which made it hard to cook outside, but the absence of these flies / midges, made this stay the most comfortable in the highlands! Mobile connection is also decent with EE and Virgin having a stable 4G.

Beside the road, as is often the case in Scotland, but from 8 p.m. there is practically no traffic; it resumes around 6:30 a.m. Beautiful view and hike to the lake.✦Translating

Beautiful place with a spectacular view. However, the road is fairly busy until 10 p.m. and from 6 a.m. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the wrong address. Good for an overnight stop while traveling.✦Translating

Great spot for one night, no services, general waste bin, room for around 3/4 vans

Just parked briefly for the views! Level and quiet for a quick break, but quite exposed to the elements!

Perfect place for a late-night stopover and an early departure. We picked up litter before leaving. Brilliant place to see the Northern Lights.✦Translating

Great one nighter...... All roadworthy vehicles may use a designated lay-by to rest, including in a motorhome for such time as is required. This includes pulling up overnight. No offence or contravention is committed if the activity is contained within the vehicle. As soon as tables/chairs/cooking etc takes place outside the vehicle then an offence is committed and can be adjudged as “camping”.
