Dogs Hill Road, TN36 4LX, Winchelsea Beach
Been here?
A small parking area beside the beach, suitable for a simple overnight stop. The car park is sloping, with a more even gravel road nearby, and the latest comments report a usable toilet and bins. Space is limited, and the area can be busy during the day.

We spent our first night in England in this parking area. Coming from France, do not expect an aire like those there. It is simply a small parking space for spending the night. Positive points: the beach is opposite, and there is a toilet and rubbish bins.
Good park up stop for the night. Carpark on a slope but just park on the road, there’s no restrictions as long as you’re not blocking anything (use common sense!) Spent the day kayaking and parked on the gravel road next to the toilets. Toilet was fine and there’s bins around too. Cars seemed to come and go throughout the night which woke me up a couple times but I wasn’t disturbed by anyone.
5 places for small cars. The 6th place is for disabled. Quite on a slope. I parked on the side of the road on an even surface. Disabled toilet still in operation. During the day someone took the toilet paper... I expect this area to be very busy on a summer day. Now in autumn it was good enough to spend the night. Nice walk to the river and castle ruins.
Only suitable for small campers; at 7 p.m. it was still full of parked cars.
Stayed Aug 24. great for a one night stop over next to beach, just over sea wall. low tide is a long way out and muddy patches on beach. shongle at the top changes to sand as the tide goes out. Toilets out of use but disabled loo open during the day... not overly pleasant. limited space but we had a lovely quiet night and people were really friendly. Even had an ice cream van pull up.
A good place to spend the night. Quite a few people come to picnic on the beach and walk their dogs; in the evening the car park empties. We slept without noise or disturbances. There is a toilet that closes at night and opens in the morning, clean and well maintained.
Really nothing special; we continued on to the next one.
Quiet residential spot right by the beach, disabled toilet open until 8pm. Felt safe, slept in with no disturbances. Room for multiple campervans. No signs restricting parking.
Nice place to stay; however, on the day we came to spend the afternoon and night, it was very windy. We had to leave and spend the night elsewhere because the gusts were far too strong. If you are lucky with the weather, the place is lovely and quiet.
