Town parking, overnight ban

A town-centre car park with 20 spaces, but recent signage states that overnight stays are not allowed. The original information described free parking from 6pm to 8am, with daytime parking next to it limited to 2 hours. Sign saying overnight stays are not allowed. It can't be done.
We parked in first small car park on left as you turn off the main Street. Dominos was directly across from us. We parked on a Saturday night and was undisturbed all night. Small parking sign which said there was only parking charges before 6pm Sat and after 10am Sunday. We had the river on one side of us and there were 3 Supermarkets within walking distance. Toilet in further car park.
Great town centre park up, only have to pay 8am to 6pm then free overnight. It's the Bath Road Car Park but you need to download MiPermit App to pay or see signs for other options. Next to the river and fab George V Playing Fields with a cafe. Toilets in car park open 7am to dusk or use Waitrose loos next door open til 8pm. Few youths walking thru til 9pm but no other noise.
