Gas Works Road, NR32 1XQ, Lowestoft
Been here?
This large parking area at Ness Point offers sea views, sunrise views and a short walk to Lowestoft town. The diagonal bays facing the sea suit campervans, while other spaces accommodate longer vehicles. It is generally considered safe, with some bins available, but there are no facilities. Noise comes from the industrial area and nearby wind turbine.

stayed here for night in car felt very safe bit of noise but really enjoyed.
There were a few vans here when I arrived in this great spot. lovely view over the sea and a short walk to the town. It felt very safe spending the night here. The diagonal spaces facing the sea are only really suitable for campervans but there are a few other spaces in the area for longer vehicles.
Great spot to spend the day/night. Great views of the ocean and right under the wind turbine. couple of bins there, so please use them.
have stopped here and had no issues at all but a lot more vans here now than last year. few bins about as well and much cleaner than last year. bit of noise from nearby industrial park and wind turbines but ok otherwise.
Stayed here for 4 nights. Nice and peaceful. Amazing sunrise. A few other campers there also. Minutes into town. Felt very safe.
Stayed here for one night. Quiet and clean. There are several rubbish bins. Please take your rubbish into there. Don’t leave here.
Stayed here for the summer solstice, I would really recommend this park up. Beautiful sea views, lovely and quite had a really nice walk along the prom with the dogs. Bins close by.What more could you want. No facilities though
Arrived very late (almost 1am)… plenty of parking, quiet, felt safe. Right next to the sea. Would recommend!
Just over a year since my last visit, and this time further out of season - and much busier van wise. Hardly surprising when the council put “no overnight” signs everywhere and make it so hard for full timers to find somewhere to stay. It’s a great place, but if it looks busy it’s worth considering moving on rather than giving the locals cause to complain…and more of those dreaded signs going up!
Great place to stay for a couple of nights. Basic but with great sea views.
Stayed here for one night with absolutely no issues. There were a few other camper vans here too so felt totally safe. Next to the sea. Very windy at night but lovely breeze. A few bins around but ashame about the rubbish all over the floor! If we just took care of free park ups then van life would be much easier for us all!
Drove here but didn’t stop, as it’s industrial and the scenery isn’t appealing. Concrete everywhere and I wouldn’t feel safe.
Good stay, very quiet, one other camper. Lots of cars going into the car park at the end and saw one police car which was reassuring.
Had a good stay here last night. There was at least another 5 vans here. Nice and quiet with great views of the sea.
The park up is ok for a short term parkup, but on the day I arrived there was a strong sewage smell from the concrete sewer vent tower.
Nice spot right by the sea. Plenty of spaces for few vans. We spend one night with 2 vans. Quiet night. Well recommended
Great spot for an overnight stay. There are a few wagons and other campers so pretty safe. The sea view is great and there's a great little diner only a short walk down the sea wall- The Lighthouse Diner. Nice quiet spot tucked behind the Birdseye Factory. We didn't have and trouble all night and slept like a baby!
Great stop over - very basic, industrial estate car park but ideal for an over night. We arrived around 6.30pm en route north and needed to stop. Really quiet all night and still quiet at 9.30am! Don't be put off by driving through the industrial estate!
Flat spots were taken up by hgvs and the car park under the height barrier was covered in litter. Decided not to stay.
