Seaside campsite with pitches facing the sea and direct beach access; 1-minute walk to shore. Facilities cleaned twice daily and generally well-maintained. €23–32 per day depending on season. Main drawbacks: car traffic runs through the campsite, and spot allocation can be frustrating—some visitors report being assigned occupied pitches. A separate mobile-home area offers quieter stays. Good base for D-Day sites and cycle routes.

Excellent location, pitches right by the sea with a wonderful view.
Very friendly welcome, great site with a sea view and less than a minute’s walk to the beach. Restaurants and a small shop are about 300 m away. Excellent sanitary facilities.
Seaside campsite. Very good, well-maintained campsite. Very clean sanitary facilities. A little north wind was very pleasant for cooling off in the heat. Direct access to the beach. Very beautiful seaside promenade with magnificent, typically Norman villas. Price for one person and a motorhome, three days, two with electricity: €50.51. NEW: accepts ANCV digitally.
The campsite is close to historic Sword Beach, but a downside is the heavy traffic on the road that cuts through the campsite. A supermarket is an eight-minute walk from the campsite. We were furthest from the sea, which was a quiet location. It was inconvenient that the toilets and other facilities were separate and some distance from one another.
Good base for visiting the D-Day coast. Facilities okay. €23 with electricity in September.
At the beginning of September 2025, I asked for a pitch for one or two days. I paid for the first day, and the next morning at 10 a.m. I was asked to leave because it was reserved; no apology. Why assign me this number when the campsite was half empty? We eventually reached an agreement and I went to pay for the second day. Then it was €3 more. Explanation: it had not been included in my file.
Great place to stay for a night all your facilities close to the beach great cycle paths thanks for fitting us in
We stayed two nights on the mobile-home side. This side is much quieter! Access to the beach is very quick. The welcome was super friendly and accommodating! I do not understand the negative reviews.
Unfortunately not recommended. We paid €32 and were given a pitch among the permanent campers. We parked properly on our pitch, but eventually the permanent residents said they had the right to drive across our pitch to reach theirs because there was a passage there—right through the middle of the pitch! Outrageous! We definitely will not return and do not recommend the site.
The site is right by the sea on a very beautiful beach. The sanitary facilities were clean and cleaned twice daily. Even though we had not reserved, we were given a really nice pitch. We stayed for two days and felt very comfortable.
Large seaside campsite on both sides of the road. Grass pitches of varying sizes. Very quiet day and night. €26.30 per day for a motorhome and two people.
Pitches are not delimited and arranged somewhat strangely, but they are spacious. By the sea, along a long, wide promenade giving access to the pleasant village. Generally clean and welcoming staff.
Campsite fairly well maintained. Friendly staff. Clean sanitary facilities. Supermarket nearby.
Very disappointed. The person asked how many days we were staying; if we stayed several days, we were supposedly entitled to a seaside pitch. A pitch facing the sea was free, but she told us it was taken. We never saw anyone on it. She was not honest. We had been coming to this campsite for three years in a row, but now this is the second time she has told us the pitches were taken. What a shame.
Small, very pleasant campsite. If pitches are available, it is possible to get a magnificent view of the beach. For motorhomes, even though some people find the sanitary facilities a little dated, the onboard facilities provide comfort. The pitches facing the sea have direct access to the promenade, town centre and shops 200 m away. Wonderful setting for fans of shore fishing. Grumpy people, move along.
Meh, apart from access to the beach. Run-down and poorly maintained campsite. No privacy among the houses. Does not justify the price.
Indeed, the sanitary facilities need renovating, especially given the price. Otherwise, you are almost on the beach and right next to the shops.
The lady at reception was friendly, but unfortunately she assigns the pitches, and every pitch we wanted was, according to her, “already occupied.” Perhaps the better pitches are preferentially given to campers staying longer than one night. The toilets are shabby and smell unbelievably bad; the showers are fine. €35.50 for two adults, two children and electricity.
Fabulous location overlooking the beach. Toilets and showers okay, though the shower was not quite hot and no way to change. Receptionist is friendly and does speak a little English despite the sign on her desk. Not many restaurants in Lion sur Mer but there are loads overlooking the beach in neighbouring Luc sur Mer. There is a Carrefour Contact and a boulangerie 5 minutes' walk away.
Nice campsite with a beautiful sea view and well positioned beside the coastal cycle route. The major downside is the sanitary facilities, which are outdated and, above all, very poorly cleaned and full of bad smells—in short, disgusting. A major disappointment for a campsite at this price.
A beautiful campsite by the sea. Quite expensive in high season at €30 per night. The sanitary facilities are very minimalist. Do not forget toilet paper. Showers are included. Cleanliness... well, acceptable. Supermarket about 300 metres away. Reception is very helpful and friendly. The pitch is quite large. Up to 7 m should fit.
Very nice spot facing the ocean, spacious and almost level. Showers and washing machines available. €25.30, perfect! Recommended.
Great location for one night. Very close to the sea, and the front pitches even have sea views! The sanitary facilities are old, but the showers are hot, and you don't need more than that.
Seaside campsite. Warm welcome. Beautiful beach, shore fishing and surf casting.
Friendly welcome. No reservations. First come, first served. Great location. The beach is 20 meters from the motorhome. Easy maneuvering with a motorhome.
We were at the camping for one night. Being so close to the beach was a bonus. Pitches are well kept and spacious. The showers could do with an upgrade but the water was sufficiently warm ! Lots of small eateries in walking distance.
This campsite suited us perfectly. We chose a pitch without electricity and got the perfect location by toilet number 56. Hedges made the pitch private. Everything was simple, with clean showers and toilets. We stayed on the quiet side, not the seaside. We had our dog with us and everything was perfect for us. Very nice woman at reception. We were only going to stay one night but booked an extra night because we enjoyed it so much. Wi-Fi was okay.
Excellent stop helpful person great location.Small village with food available all good def a good stop good value
