Been here?
This camper area is currently closed for renovation. Water filling and grey- and black-water disposal are unavailable, although nearby parking remains possible and may be paid. Recent visitors found the area still closed in July 2026.

Still closed…. We parked in the higher parking spaces, which are white.
Hello everyone, I have just found the motorhome area, but it is closed due to construction, so no disposal or water filling. Great in this heat. Please be careful. I parked right next to it in a paid parking lot. Bye.
Still closed. The site is being renovated, and it is not possible to empty black or gray water or fill up with fresh water.
Motorhome area under renovation, with a single drain for gray/black water (also for nautical cassettes) and a water tap. Fifteen minutes from the escalators to the city center. As of today, however, it is still unusable... The fishbone spaces are small and facing the wrong way!!! It could certainly have been done better! In any case, there are parking spaces just above.
This place is currently closed!!!
Very good, in the city center, but currently under construction for filling and emptying.
29 April 2026: The site is quiet and somewhat tricky to find. It is part of a large parking lot between high-rise buildings. Warning: the disposal station is currently unavailable and is being rebuilt. The entire level is closed! Motorhomes can park on the remaining two levels.
Still a construction site. There is plenty of space in the parking lot behind it today. No possibility of emptying or filling with water.
Temporarily closed for construction, but still possible to park in the nearby parking lot. Unfortunately no facilities while under construction. A few local stationary MHs are taking up a lot of space in the remaining parking lot. Not suitable for long vehicles, as the parking street is a narrow dead end without much space to turn around.
A quiet night in the car spaces because the spaces reserved for motorhomes are occupied by local residents. In the morning, the service area was accessible, but by late afternoon there seemed to be construction work. Good Iliad internet reception.
Quiet for one night, although four local motorhomes occupy the designated spaces as permanent parking, with nobody inside. What a shame. No water today due to freezing; the tap has been shut off. It is still possible to empty gray and black water, but there is no water available for rinsing.
Free water filling and emptying, unfortunately the motorhome spaces are occupied by locals. We stopped only for lunch.
Large and quiet parking lot. Convenient for the city center. The free water filling has little pressure, but we are grateful for the possibility.
Large parking lot, a few steps from the escalators leading to the historic center.
Update on 13 December 2025 Three spaces available; the others are occupied by permanently parked motorhomes, some badly parked. The area is near the road, but fairly quiet from 11:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Water pressure for filling is a little low. The tap used to clean the area after emptying is broken, and the hose is present but disconnected. Gray and black water disposal is working.
Level parking, quiet during the night; nothing else to report.
Everything is available except electricity. Many thanks to the city of Potenza.
Free parking with services. The only drawback is that almost all spaces are occupied by motorhomes belonging to local residents. Unfortunately, this is an increasingly common problem. People with an unused motorhome could park it somewhere else that costs nothing, even if the ground is uneven, rather than in a motorhome area intended for travelers. We motorhome users are ruining the free places ourselves.
Parking possible, with free gray-water disposal and drinking water, including hoses.
Five motorhome spaces with gray and black water disposal and drinking water. No electricity or shade, but everything is free and close to the escalators to the city center.
Excellent, we slept very well.
The motorhome area is fully operational. The parking is convenient for reaching the city center.
Thank you, Potenza, for this parking area with disposal and filling facilities. A very, very quiet night with a little coolness. Five spaces, not very long, but my 7.40 m vehicle fits; unlike some people with a van that takes up three spaces—where is the civic responsibility?
We spent the night here; it was very quiet with little noise. The water works, and black and gray water can be emptied together. Since it is in the city, phone reception is perfect. Not aesthetically beautiful, but very functional for a stop.
You can empty gray and black water. You can also take on water, provided you connect your hose. The cathedral square is 900 m away on foot; it is uphill, but we were not impressed by the city, as there is not much to see.
Do not look for a separate place for black water; it is the same single place as for gray water. We had a very good night, despite the evening music, which did not last long.
The cramped pitch reflects the charm of the city. Practical, but nothing more. We were very disappointed by Basilicata’s regional capital.
We simply stopped there for a few hours. The services work. We did not spend the night there.
Free disposal of black and gray water, free fresh water, free to spend the night, thank you Potenza for such hospitality! During the night it was peaceful enough. At first look, when you come from the road it seems like you misnavigated, but the drainage and camper reserved places are on the second plateau of public residental parking. Been there on 29/12/2024
Many thanks to the city for setting up this service area. It is very important for motorhomes to have regular access to it. We spent a quiet night. There is traffic noise in the morning and evening, but that is normal since we are in the city.
Excellent, free, with water filling and emptying facilities, ideal for vehicles no longer than 7 m. Free water filling and emptying. Not perfectly level. Near the escalators, which take you to the historic center for €0.50 per person. Follow the signs for the station, take the stairs, and arrive at Piazza Mazzini, from where you can continue by escalator.
Free parking on several levels, with water filling and emptying facilities. We spent one night here in early November and it was very peaceful. The only drawback is that it is a little far from the center, and getting there involves several hills and steps. Never order the “al vizio” pizza at the pizzeria near the parking lot—it is awful!
The coordinates should be adjusted. Up to five motorhomes can fit, with another 7–8 opposite. Everything for emptying and filling is available except electricity.
