Unnamed Road
Been here?
A basic gravel parking area beside a community hall, close to two beaches and a café. Parking costs £10, with a 24-hour public toilet, washing-up sink, drinking water and two showers costing £1 for 2 minutes. The facilities are clean, but the toilet and washing-up water may be cold, and the area fills quickly. The site is between the east and west beaches, with cows and quiet coastal surroundings nearby.

Great little spot. One of a few along this road. This one closest to the toilets, shower & café. Well worth £10 donation
What a great facility. We drove straight there from the ferry and managed to get a spot beside the centre which was very handy for toilets and wash up. No hot water in bathroom or wash up, hence 4 instead of 5 stars but don't let that put you off staying for a night in this beautiful spot. We had a lovely swim in the morning.
Fantastic spot, just bliss. Clean toilet and showers, plus a sink for washing up etc . The location between the two beaches is just heavenly.
Lovely facilities for £10pn. This was our favourite of the few along the road. It has a sea view and easy access to the toilet, shower and washing up sink. Cafe wasn't open while we were there. Toilet was cleaned daily by very friendly lady. Easy walk to 2 beaches. Unfortunately weather was wet and windy during our stay so we didn't get to make the most of it. Would definitely return.
Parked next to the community hall with our campervan, driving there directly from the evening ferry. The spaces quickly filled up. Very quiet—only three cars drove to the ferry early in the morning. The cattle grid at the community hall rattles... Great beaches to the west and east. Beautiful walk across cow pastures. Café was okay, very friendly service. £10 absolutely reasonable.Translating
Clean toilets and showers, definitely worth the £1 for 2 minutes. Gets very busy though, but we got parked near the cafe no bother. Amazing beaches. This is a must visit when here
Parking spot near stunning beaches. Very busy so get there early in the morning or evening after daytrippers have left. Beaches world class, very nice cafe and cake honesty box nearby. £1 for 2 minutes in the shower quite short but great shower. Overall facilities are great but additional toilet required for how busy it is during peak times
I will remember this to the end of my days. I parked up next to the cafe where you have ocean view. Just stunning. Lovely toilet / shower too. Cafe is open 10-4 and serves simple but nice food and lovely coffee.
Great basic facilities of one toilet, two showers and a washing up sink (be courteous and read the signs). All wheelchair friendly. Can fill water bottles, cannot fill van tanks. Didn’t try the hot water. Community hall staff were friendly. No parking in the hall’s car park but sites just outside and a further two down the road towards the south of the island.
Great park up near Vatersay community hall. Toilet and shower facilities (£1 a min) were very clean and accessible 24/7. The parking areas are a short walk from east and west beach, and a 20 minute walk from south beach. The parking areas are set back from the road which is very quiet throughout the day and night.
A great spot for a night on Vatersay. Stunning beach walks and you can visit the main beaches plus those to the south in a nice loop walk. Stunning island. Please support the local cafe and pay at the honesty box. Showers need to be a bit longer as they take a while to get to a comfortable heat and then they go off! people with long hair don't get much chance :-(
Great spot, and very clean. It gets very busy, and it’s sad to see people not listening to the signage. It clearly says everywhere not to park on the grass or climb the dunes… They are simple requests so please listen. No hot water, but still worth the £10 for the location.
Parked here on our first night after arriving from Oban. Slight slope. Very quiet. Toilet is very clean but no hot water in toilet or washing up sink. Very close to beaches. Don’t mind paying £10 to keep it nice. Had breakfast in the cafe which was all good.
Closest to toilet but nearby cattle grid lets you know when every car is passing at night. Active road even at 2am. There are two more similar sites further down (200 feet and 400 feet) that are better. This site is rough gravel on a slight slope. Ridiculous price for a shower. No dish washing allowed. We’re stayed at a lot of better community sites in the Outer Hebrides.
Lovely area all credit to the community for providing these spots. Don't park here as the cows have caused considerable damage to our van
Beautiful view. Nice Clean Showers and toilets. Cafe next door served nice warm meals. We had two dogs with us, who loved the beaches. Parking spots were good and away from the wind. Nice stay.
Parked right by the community hall. Room for 3 vans. Stunning beaches either side. Toilets open all night and payable showers. £10 in the honesty box.
Great spot. £10 in the honesty box on the community hall and looking forward to breakfast bap in the morning. Lovely beach camp spots sheltered from the 46mph winds.
