Free parking with some shade, about 15 minutes on foot from the city center and close to the main road. It is often busy during the day but nearly empty in the evening and at night. Recent reports describe considerable traffic noise overnight and in the morning. A visitor also reported being approached at 4am by someone demanding 5 euro.

Free and close to the centre, but very noisy at night and in the morning.
15 minutes’ walk to the castle. I think it is the closest parking area for larger motorhomes. Parking in the centre is quite difficult. I recommend visiting the castle, cathedral and centre.
With our large camper we occupied three spaces. In the evening and at night the parking area is almost empty. But at 4am some old man knocked on our camper, wanted €5 and would not leave. Despite threatening to call the police, he started pointing to something on his sweater as if he were from the police. He only left when I started honking and making a lot of noise. A lot of cars already start arriving at 7am.
Very good place to sleep; we stayed for two nights. Not for camping. Parking under trees, so you can park in the shade. We fit with a short VW Crafter, but there is no room for a large motorhome. Best to park before 8am or after 6pm. During the day the parking area is full. The place is very busy during the day with people and cars—the school is next door.
Parking 15 minutes’ walk from the town centre, free, with a few shaded spaces; suitable for vehicles no larger than a van. Be careful, there are few spaces during the day.
