Lockside site, narrow pitches

Nice place, including electricity, gray-water disposal and fresh-water filling. Close to the locks, definitely worth visiting. Nice path and walk to the center, about 3.5 km. The place fills up quickly, so arrive early.

Very tight pitches (cuddle camping). Good location right by the lock. Only public toilets/showers on the other side of the lock. Fine for spending a day at the lock.

Very tight pitches; when fully occupied, you have to like being this close to others. I drove on.

Simple motorhome site, right by the lock. At checkout, drive all the way up to the barrier. Public toilet/shower on the other side of the canal, not very nice.

Nice camper site, paved pitches with electricity. No toilet or shower at the site itself, but further away at a small marina across the locks. Drive very close to the barrier. Black-water disposal is simply at the gray-water drain. Excellent base for visiting Trollhättan and the impressive lock complex. If you can get a pitch at the front, you have a wonderful view.

Basically a nice site, with electricity and a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the toilets are not open continuously and there is no water for refilling. The area itself is very beautiful, though. Anyone who likes nature should spend a day and night here.

We still got a spot in the front row. The pitches are quite tight, but okay for one night. Good service facilities. Very good opportunities to walk the dogs. A little noisy from time to time.

Good motorhome site for one or two nights. With some luck, you can get a front-row spot and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and lock. Electricity and water are included. The site is clean and the pitches are mostly almost level. Payment is by card only.

Site at the lock in Trollhättan. Excellent view from the front row. Service facilities, electricity, and rubbish containers on site. Toilets and showers opposite, at the lock. The facility is public and therefore not recommended.

Sunday 8 March 2026 was free. On 15 March 2026 it cost 290 SEK, and none of the facilities were working apart from electricity. No water or drainage. Signs say the season starts on 15 April 2026, which clearly is not true. Unacceptable to charge full price for this.

Five pitches had been cleared. We were completely alone. The barrier opened, we had electricity, and paid nothing. Great view! Excellent, thank you!

Really good. We arrived around 2 p.m. and got a spot in the front row. We cannot comment on the toilet and shower as we have our own on board. Easy entry and exit with a credit card. We would gladly come again.

3 star for view and grey/ black water disposal and availability of drinking water but it's overpriced at 290Sek. Toilet is public toilet and 1 dirty (womens) shower are 150m (!) away and only open from 7h till 21h, you have to pass 2 locks and 1 of them is a working lock so if it's open you have to wait to go to the toilet... I wish I had read the earlier comments before parking here.

Fantastic view from the first row with all facilities. I was a little skeptical about the toilet and shower on the opposite bank of the canal since they were public. But wow, they were so clean and tidy. Definitely somewhere to return to.

Quiet, level asphalt parking area, with all services as described. To enter or leave, drive up to the barrier and walk over with your credit card to the parking machine. With a bit of luck, you can see a ship entering the lock. The Saab Museum is about a 15-minute walk away. In Trollhättan itself, it is generally difficult to park a motorhome.

Everything exactly as described, a very beautiful area. We were lucky: the barrier was defective, so it was free.

Great opportunity to watch the ships in the lock. The site is reasonably priced; we had two quiet nights. Payment by card: when entering, the card is registered; when leaving, payment is made or charged.

The site is excellent, especially in the front row. Because of its size and popularity, you should arrive by midday. A walk around the locks is practically mandatory. The village, or town, is within cycling distance. Full marks for early risers!

A super beautiful motorhome site by a lock where large steamers were passing through. Service facilities available and exemplary. Toilets and showers at the marina a little farther away, but no problem and spotlessly clean. The barrier charges 290 SEK for every 12-to-12 period (24 hours); each additional hour costs 30 SEK.

Beautiful, quiet motorhome site with a great view if you manage to get a front-row pitch. A little expensive, like unfortunately many sites in Sweden. You can also use the service facilities only, but only when the site is not full. One hour costs 30 SEK.

The site has a hefty price. We only used the disposal and water services, but initially found ourselves in front of a closed barrier until someone left. If the site is full, you need time and luck, otherwise you cannot reach the fresh-water or gray-/black-water area. The barrier makes it impossible.

Very good motorhome site for visiting the locks. Everything is available: service facilities, toilets, and showers on the other side of the canal. For information, on the last night, 1 July 2025, someone attempted to break into four motorhomes, all Ducatos with German license plates, using the same screwdriver trick on the driver's door.

The site seems very popular and was completely full on both days we tried. It appears to offer plenty of space and a good view. We went instead to one of the countless nearby parking areas and, in my opinion, found an even nicer free place to stay.

We arrived at quarter to one and got the last spot. But the toilet situation is a joke: down, across the canal, and through the marina; nobody walks there. Otherwise okay. We are staying two nights. A little too expensive, but the location is very good.

We spent a very quiet night here today. Clean site. The public toilets opposite across the canal are very clean, but locked at night. Service facilities are easy to use.

Very nice site if you are in the front row. Otherwise the view is restricted. Everything is clean and comfortable.

Motorhome site with everything you need, but no Wi-Fi. In my opinion, 290 SEK is too expensive. Those in the front row, nine pitches, have a view of the canal. Ships pass through the locks from time to time, which is interesting. No toilet or shower, but we do not need them because our motorhome has both.

Beautiful motorhome site overlooking a lock on the Göta Canal. Waste disposal, electricity, and drinking water available. Showers and toilets about 100 meters away in the boat mooring area. However, the sanitary facilities were locked around 9 p.m. and therefore unusable. That is why I can only give four stars.

They have now raised the price to 290 SEK per day. Considering that the toilets and showers are public and 150 meters away on the other side of the canal, it is far too expensive. There is no service building at the site itself, but you can fill water and empty gray and black water. Much better value is the campsite in Trollhättan for 350 SEK per day, where everything is nearby.

We only stopped to use the toilet disposal and drinking water (both in good condition), the boom gate was not in place so I think all 7 cans there now are enjoying a free night or two. The pitches are HUGE (there are about 19) and nice view of the lock area. Imagine it is very popular for big vans in the season

Beautiful place, but a bit busy around it. Free water and pitch. Electricity was probably free too, but we did not need it.

Motorhome site free from November to 15 April 2025, without services but with electricity. Simply excellent, thank you to the municipality.
