LD3 8NL, Brecon
Been here?
A daytime parking area with 8 large motorhome spaces and excellent access to the Pen Y Fan walking routes. Parking now costs £10 for the day, with toilets and bins available. The gravel spaces are generally roomy, though some are uneven, and the location can be busy and somewhat noisy near the road.

8 Large spaces provided for motorhomes for daytime parking only. Now £10 for day. Toilets. Great access to walk Pen Y Fant. Get there early as it was busy today.
No overnight signs gone up. Day time parking only. Some good overnight parking nearby. Bins and toilets
Daytime parking only (read the signs at the parking meter) noting this costs a flat rate of £7.50 per day and it is owned by the National Trust, therefore, it's free for it's members. Great size of spaces and on a clean hard gravel surface, some level some not so. Toilets and bins within the car parking area. Really popular spot for day trippers wanting to walk in the Brecon Beacons.
It's a paid parking now, £7,50 for the day and no overnight stays allowed. I don't know if and how they check but we moved on like everybody else. Maybe change to a daytime parking lot. Toilets are new and very clean
Parking now paid, £7.50 for the day. You can pay by card to the staff. Clean toilets.
The car park is currently under construction. I’m not sure it’ll be so easy to park overnight here for much longer! It was quiet, set back from the road, we were one of about 6-7 campers. Some people arrive really early… like 4am. They don’t necessarily click that people are sleeping!! portaloos in place at the moment which are as you’d expect them to be. Food van in situ also!
Nice (as of 10/4/23 free) park up. Pay machines installed but not yet in use. We arrived about 5pm still plenty of new gravelled flat spaces. About 4 vans stayed overnight. Burgervan for your morning hot bacon, sausage egg rolls etc. I don't blame them for pay machines as they have to get the cost of improvement back. You can get far enough away from the road now. Toilets were emptied about 7pm
Stayed here last night in our van! Perfect spot at the bottom of the main track up Pen Y Fan. Portaloos (take your own toilet roll). Currently free & unmanned. Although lots of infrastructure is now being implemented due to the business in the day, and so parking meters have been installed (as of 08/04/23 covered, but soon to be activated I believe).
Spacious parking, not flat. Busy in the morning; the parking area fills with hikers. Free, but probably not for much longer. Parking meters have already been installed. Toilet available.
I rarely give 5/5, but this parking area has good drainage, slopes that work in your favor, and is away from traffic. Construction is the only drawback, and it is close to the start of a hiking trip rated 10/10.
Free parking, amazing views & easy access to pen y fan !! Definitely worth a pit stop
