1200 Chemin des Cristalliers, 74400, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
Been here?
This is a free roadside parking area for daytime visits to Chamonix, about 15 minutes on foot from the centre and 25 minutes from the Aiguille du Midi cable car. Spaces are available, with a cycle path to Chamonix at 1km 600 and a free toilet nearby. The adjacent road is very busy and noisy, with fast-moving traffic, so it is unsuitable for a peaceful overnight stay.

Chamonix's free parking area. Still a 10–15-minute walk from the center.
A very practical cycle path to reach Chamonix, 1.6 km away, but it runs beside a road where vehicles drive very fast, so be careful.
Convenient because it is not far from the center of Chamonix. It is along a road that is indeed very busy, but it is perfect for the day.
Convenient free parking with lots of free spaces. Downside is the busy, noisy road. Don't bother trying any of the free parking spaces in town, its far too busy so you won't find anything.
Free parking, no overnight restrictions and 15 min walk from Cham centre. Yes the road is noisy but earplugs helped and it basically wasnt an issue.
Okay for parking, but there is a huge amount of traffic.
Perfect for parking during the day and visiting the town, 15 minutes on foot through a small park.
Exactly as described, a little over 1 km from the town for doing activities. Cars pass quite quickly right beside it.
From 7:00 a.m. onward there is a lot of noisy traffic and the van shakes. But at this time of year I don't know whether there are many other options. Chamonix is packed; unfortunately, it seems like an amusement theme park.
Very noisy, with too many cars passing on the road, and the air displaced by them shakes the van. We did not stay overnight because it was too bothersome. It is fine as parking, 15–20 minutes from the center, and there is a free toilet.
Parking right next to the road. In the winter season it is busy at all hours. It is very difficult to rest because of the traffic noise and the wind shaking the motorhome. We had to leave.
