Been here?
A small parking area beside the Mao River and the Fabrica da Luz Hostel, ideal for the nearby river walkways. It has space for 6 - 7 vehicles and access via a somewhat steep ramp. Overnight stays are possible by consulting the hostel bar and spending there; otherwise there are no services. The area is very quiet, with the sound of water and nature.

Parking with space for six or seven vehicles, easy access via a slightly steep ramp, and an excellent night with the sound of water and nature—nothing else! Overnight stays may be possible by asking at the hostel bar, while spending something there as well. The Mao River footbridges route starts right there.
Absolute solitude for two nights during the week, which we used to do the long route through the Mao River Canyon. An occasional walker passed by to use the footbridges. Completely alone after 6 p.m. No services, free. There is a bar that now only opens on weekends. No problem going down or up with a 6-meter camper.
Parking area for hiking routes. We accessed it without problems with our 7.5-meter motorhome, going down head-on on dry ground. To leave, the wheels slipped a little on the final steep section, but we got out fine.
I had to call assistance to get out of the parking area with a 7.4-meter motorhome. It had rained, and on the wet ground the wheels kept slipping, so I could not get out.
We spent the night to do the footbridges route the next day, together with three other vehicles. There is room for five vans. Not suitable for motorhomes because the entrance is very steep. An ideal place. Let’s keep these places clean so we can continue enjoying them.
Small parking area, I would say six to seven spaces for vans. Motorhomes should avoid it because the entrance is too tight. Perfect for the 16-km hiking loop, which is fantastic. Hostel next door with wonderful staff. Recommended.
As mentioned before, it is better to take the descent head-on and only go up when it is dry. Our motorhome has fairly high clearance and we did not scrape the ground. It is a 7.2-meter overcab motorhome, and we accessed it without too many problems. We slept alone in July. The bar serves delicious food!
We spent the night on Monday, June 3, alone and peacefully. Be careful at the entrance to the ramp and when leaving as well. We had no problems with our 7.5-meter motorhome. The Mao footbridges route is beautiful.
Good place to sleep peacefully and do the footbridges route the next day. Be careful: the fountain has no water. The hostel only opens on weekends. The entrance slope is steep but manageable.
The entrance is steep but paved. We had no problems with our Viano Marco Polo. Space to park around 10–13 vehicles, somewhat sloping. The Mao River footbridges route starts here. Hostel and bar. Quite wooded and shady.
