A flat and spacious site with a Cantal landscape view. A warm welcome from owners passionate about their work. A beautiful place connected with nature. Add to that an exceptional cheese…
Parking in the middle of a meadow. Around ten vans and motorhomes, but large enough for privacy. There are toilets in the building where you can watch the cheese being made. There is also a small shop accepting checks and cash. Very warm welcome. Thank you.
Huge parking area! Cheese production and the cheese cellar are magnificent. Come as you are and you’ll be delighted. The cheese is incredible and the welcome warm. The toilets are not accessible at night.
A great free night camping in return for a warm welcome, and explanation of the cheese making process & observing him doing part of that process. Following tasting, we bought cheese! A easy cycle into the medieval town of Salers, which is well worth a visit. No shade, but not that hot when we were there. Possibility of electrics for 5€ per night.
Excellent welcome from the two brothers. After spending an afternoon watching the cows being milked in the mountains, we were able to follow every step of the cheese-making process. Their Cantal is excellent.
Magnificent pitch, especially for 4x4s, in the meadows with views of the mountains and cows. Milking in the morning, followed by cheese-making and, above all, Cantal tasting! Very clean facilities (toilets, sinks, and plenty of water from the outdoor tap), and above all a very warm, authentic welcome. Many thanks to them.
We spent one night at the farm. A very warm welcome from the owners, kind, passionate, and touching people! Plus delicious farm cheese to enjoy without moderation! We’ll come back!!
We spent two nights at the farm in a magnificent setting, with a warm welcome, live cow milking, and cheese-making. We bought some excellent Cantal on site. We’ll return; it was a wonderful discovery.
We spent one night at the farm and it was really great! A very warm welcome and delicious cheese. There are toilets on site. There were three of us, two motorhomes and our vehicle, with plenty of room for everyone and a magnificent view. We’ll come back!!
I recommend it for buying Salers cheese and spending a night. We were given a very warm welcome by the owner.
We come to Yves and Marcel’s at least twice a year. It is a real pleasure to stay here. I recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet, a family atmosphere, and delicious cheese made on site before your eyes.
Although the place genuinely isn’t worth five stars—it is a gravelled area in front of the cheese dairy with the essentials—the meadow is available in summer. The welcome and kindness of the owners deserve the rating, especially in an area where motorhomes and converted vans are apparently not welcome. And their cheese is excellent!
A magical, peaceful place with a warm welcome from wonderful people. Thank you so much; I promise I’ll return. Travelers, don’t hesitate—I travel alone and felt completely safe ❤️
It is always wonderful to see Marcel and Yves again—pure happiness. The two brothers are incredibly kind. Marcel makes extraordinary Cantal. Enjoy it without moderation. A wonderful address. Thanks again, and see you soon.
Very warm welcome, very kind owners. We watched the Cantal being made, which was very interesting. We were able to taste their delicious cheeses and happily bought some. Many thanks to the two brothers; we’ll return. See you soon.
Friendly welcome. A small nearby path leads to Salers. I recommend the cheese.
A must-visit place! Meeting Marcel and Yves, two extraordinary brothers. Add it to your itineraries! Thanks again for their welcome.
We had a very enjoyable evening watching the cheese being made, with a wonderful welcome. We stayed in a field next to the farm, with a magnificent view. Of course, we bought some excellent Salers cheese. It’s important, since the pitch is free.
Thanks to Yves, Marcel, and all the welcoming people. We spent one night at the farm, taking part in milking and visiting the cheese dairy. The Cantal is superb—don’t miss it. All the best.
A farm run by lovely people who welcome motorhomes and vans. They were happy to host us in a tent; we saw the cheese production and they gave us lots of great addresses for eating local food. A very good spot if you don’t mind being alongside other motorhomes or vans. It’s large, so you can find a good place off to the side and avoid being too close.
Very nice, very quiet place; the Cantal is excellent. For shade, go all the way down to the bottom of the field. You can also visit the Salers museum with its shop 800 m away.
Very warm welcome. Although Marcel the cheesemaker seems grumpy, he is extremely kind; his brother, the king of the cows and milking, is very jovial. The campervanners Nadine and others spend several months here and use their free time to give visitors advice and information while helping sell the cheese. Electricity is available for €5.
Camping on the farm, with a large field made available free of charge. Friendly welcome and explanations about how the cheese is made, which you can taste and buy at very reasonable prices.
Warm welcome, quality and inexpensive cheese, sold directly, with space in the field wherever you like. I recommend it after visiting Salers.
Very large field available for vans and motorhomes. For vans, it is better to stay down below for more peace; otherwise, at the top there is quite a lot of overlooking from the motorhomes. The toilets are not accessible at night, and it is not easy to find a discreet place if you are in the upper field.
A very limited welcome from the owner. The explanation of how Cantal is made was very brief; fortunately, you can watch the production in real time. Large area with several dozen motorhomes... you might as well go to a campsite.
Peaceful place with plenty of space and a great welcome! You can watch the cheese being made, and it is very good! We had a very good night and a lovely time.
Wonderful afternoon during which we watched the cows being milked; very friendly people! Magnificent place where you can spend the night, and to finish, excellent cheese! Don't hesitate.
Great welcome; in the morning you can ride on the tractor and watch the cows being milked. Lovely owners!
What a welcome!!!! Such kind people; the manager is a big teddy bear. I have only one word: sweethearts. Cow milking, cheese making, tasting, and exceptionally generous sharing. Simple conversations and a quiet night. Truly a must-visit.
Large flat field in front of the cheese dairy. No shade if it is very hot. You can watch the cows being milked around 3 p.m.; excellent Cantal, and a small footpath leads to the beautiful village of Salers in 30 minutes.
Excellent stop on a very spacious field. You can join the cow milking at 6 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. Visit the cheese dairy around 10 a.m., with the possibility of buying Salers cheese at unbeatable prices. You can reach Salers by a hiking path of about 30 minutes. Water refill possible unless there is a shortage. Simply the best... thank you for the welcome!
Very friendly welcome, tour of the cheese dairy and tasting. The Cantal is excellent and very good value for money. Many thanks to the owners.
A quiet place, with truly kind people. Their cheeses are very good and you can watch them being made. The best Cantal I have ever eaten ☺️
Extraordinary: the welcome is exceptional, the cheese excellent and practically given away, and the brothers exceptionally kind. Complete freedom to choose where to park. It is hard to find better.
Large meadow for several motorhomes. Quiet, with only the sound of the cows. The bonus: the Cantal is good and inexpensive.
Two days in a little paradise with our two dogs. The two brothers welcomed us warmly; we took part in the milking and cheese making, and of course the tasting. Cantal will never taste the same after this. Beautiful walks through magnificent scenery to the sound of bells. Not to be missed!
Beautiful spot with lots of space and a really cheap price per kilo. Friendly, no fuss welcome ;)
Great welcome. On holiday in a van, we asked whether it was possible to park in a shaded area. No problem for the owners, who offered us another space in their fields. At the moment, young Cantal cheese is €12 per kilo, and you can watch it being made! Brilliant!!
A stop you must not miss. Two friendly brothers who love their work. Tour of the cheese dairy and tasting of excellent Cantal. Very quiet night in the meadow next to the cheese dairy.
Very good welcome; two genuinely friendly brothers. The explanations and demonstration of cheese making were very interesting. I watched the milking twice in the summer pasture, which was very interesting. Two people worth meeting. We will gladly return.
Thank you for the welcome and the bivouac. Quiet night; we watched the very interesting making of the tome and tasted it. Consume without moderation. We will return.
Nice parking area, close to Salers. We were parked near the tractor. The explanation of how Cantal is made was very interesting, and the cheese tasting was really good. We did not go to watch the cows being milked. Peaceful night.
Thank you for the welcome and the cheese tasting. We spent two quiet nights and were able to watch the milking and cheese making.
