Been here?
This is a picnic area beside a hermitage, about 4 km from Guadalupe at the start of the ascent to Pico Villuercas. It offers spectacular views and can be quiet overnight, with little traffic. The approach is very steep, with a sharp break that can cause problems for long vehicles and motorhomes, so it is better suited to vans. A few visitors may arrive at the hermitage in the morning.

Not entirely easy for motorhomes, but manageable with a panel van. Spectacular view!
The spot with the hermitage is very beautiful, and so is the view. I was alone overnight; a few people came to the hermitage early in the morning. Almost no traffic at night. If you know the access road is steep, you can prepare for it, and with a Caddy it is no problem.
It is easier to stay in the parking area at the endpoint than at the picnic spot. We walked along the path to Guadalupe and stayed there overnight.
Beautiful for one night. But the access road has a really severe angle, as shown in the photo. Even cars can scrape, and long overhangs can end disastrously. It is also dangerous on the bend because you drive out blind.
With traction plus, it is very easy. But it is true that the beginning of the climb is a little intimidating. The overhang could touch at the break in the road. The view is beautiful.
The site is very beautiful, quiet and with a great view. Careful, the slope up is very steep. In our case it was very windy and a bit cold on the hill but still a good sleeping spot!
At 3 a.m., a group of friendly locals came to flash their lights and rev their engines with music at full volume next to my van, and they did not stop until I left. What a shame, because the place was fantastic.
Warning, very steep access road. It does not work with our tow hitch, without a trailer. Our vehicle is 6.90 meters long. Certainly better for vans.
We spent a very peaceful night.
