Flat and fairly spacious pitches, and the proximity to the lake is ideal for lovely walks or bike rides. As of today, swimming is not possible because the water level is very low. The grey-water dump is still full, but toilets are available.
Beautiful place, but between the overflowing dump station smell and the pitches being packed tightly together, we prefer not to stay. Too bad—you can swim a little farther along the path.
We planned to stop for three or four days despite the number of motorhomes arriving in the evening, but everyone is respectful, which is good. However, the black-water disposal does not work, nor does the water supply—not even enough to fill a bottle. People still empty their black water, and since it is not cleaned, you can imagine the smell. Too bad, because it is a nice spot.
Quiet, restaurant nearby, playground for children. Toilets and waste-disposal services available.
Free area on two levels with a view of the lake. Swimming beach 600 meters away, accessible via a path along the lake. Dump station, but only one tap for filling and cassette cleaning—not very hygienic.
Barrier out of order, pitches with a beautiful lake view. Four toilets, a dump station, and water for filling. The lake is just below, but there are many rocks; otherwise, there is a beach 800 meters away along the path. Clean, good-quality water. Quite nice for cooling off. Unfortunately, there was music blasting at the inn above until midnight, so if you want to go to bed early, forget it.

Water supply broken. We had fond memories and returned, but unfortunately there was a musical evening with extremely loud sound. Beside a peaceful lake that invites daydreaming, we had to use earplugs and keep the windows closed despite the heat—not ideal.
Beautiful place. Toilets clean! You can swim directly in the lake. Swim to the right! Please stick to the marked pitches so everyone can have a lake view. Thanks for the free place!
Very pleasant stay at this area; the swimming zone allows you to cool off with a four-minute walk during this heatwave. The water is not very clean, but luckily it is available! Pool closed.
Highly recommended. Beautiful spot with a view of the lake. You can walk or cycle from here, though there is a climb along the way, toward Roanne. Pitches with lots of shade or lots of sun. Restaurant next to the camper pitches. It is busy and completely fills up at the end of the day.
We were here at the beginning of June. Beautiful camper site! Some people recommend arriving early, and that is correct. Still, when it is full, campers always find another place—at the front by the water, right in front of us, or in places where they are not supposed to park. There are many other camper sites by the water that are at least as beautiful, where you are almost alone!
Thanks to the municipality for this very quiet, restful site with a beautiful view. I confirm that you need to arrive early to get the best view.
Great place. It is somewhat a victim of its own success, so it is best to arrive early to get a spot.
Very clean toilets, water and disposal facilities working. Lake view; swimming is possible from the area’s dock or at the beach 800 meters away. Thanks for providing it free of charge.
Great spot, beautiful view! It is always nice to be beside a lake or the Loire, especially when you are self-sufficient.
Very well located for swimming and walking along the lake. Very quiet. There are very clean toilets cleaned every day. The only drawback is that emptying grey water and toilets is impossible because the drain is blocked. Thanks to the municipality for providing such a place free of charge.
Pleasant place for a quiet night. Grass mowed, and this morning the toilet dump was unclogged.
Could be a beautiful aire de camping car IF The grass was cut and not full of ticks, the water tap worked, and the grey water emptying area wasn't blocked, overspilling a mixture of grey water and excrement.
It is a shame that the ground is almost entirely sloped and that there is virtually no shade. The view is very pleasant, and it is always nice to find services.
Great area, with services and good 5G. Quite busy, but you can still find a place. Walks around the lake.
The place is beautiful, unfortunately the dump station was in terrible condition and no water came from the tap. Suitable for one night. Stop.
Very beautiful view. The disposal facilities were not working during our visit. Barrier and machine out of order—currently free!
Beautiful pitch with a view of the lake. Free area with grey- and black-water disposal, water, and three clean toilets. Thanks to the municipality.
Thanks to the municipality, a beautiful place for walking, and the night is very quiet.
Very nice motorhome area with a view of the reservoir lake. Clean toilets. The village of Villerest is worth visiting.
Today, on a day off, there was not a single place available at 6 p.m. Very busy and tightly packed.
Perfect! Water, disposal, toilets, walks—the place is very clean and free. It feels secure because the gendarmerie is just above!
Good camper site with a beautiful view. A walk along the reservoir is recommended.
Superb view, beautiful walk, picnic table, excellent toilets.
A truly beautiful location, perfect for starting hikes. There are facilities for emptying tanks and refilling with water free of charge, as well as very clean toilets and garbage bins. Thanks to the municipality for providing this area. We noticed that someone had left a chemical toilet at the dump station—truly disgraceful. Please respect this place.
Very pleasant area with services, ideal for a relaxing walk along the lake. Relaxing and good for resting, with a quiet night. We recommend it, but you should arrive early.
Thanks to the municipality for allowing overnight stays in this pleasant place. Lake view, absolute peace, clean toilets, and comfortable pitches suitable for a 7.5-meter motorhome. Recommended if you are self-sufficient. We did not use the disposal facilities, but they appeared easily accessible.
Very nice area near a road with some traffic, but quiet at night. The attractive, well-maintained village is worth visiting. Pleasant walk along the lake.
Superb view and quiet.
Magnificent view, very quiet, perfect night! But the toilets were closed and the water supply was out of order. Too bad.
Exceptionally quiet, not a sound, splendid view, very clean, ideal for resting between two destinations.
Very nice place. I recommend it. Be careful because there are no amenities (water and electricity).
I am at the motorhome area: a beautiful view and very quiet, but the service station does not work at all—no water or disposal—and it is very, very dirty. I am not happy. Too bad.
A quiet, clean area with an exceptional view, all free of charge. Thank you, municipality.
Nice place by the water, but you can hear the road quite a lot.
Nice place. The only drawback is that there was no water on December 11 and the black-water disposal was blocked.
Beautiful free pitch with services and toilets. Please respect the place and pick up after your dogs. This is not a dump, but a beautiful free space provided by the municipality. As for the Dutch, they often behave very badly in France—but go to the Netherlands, or rather do not go, and you will see how they mistreat French motorhomes.
Nice spot, too bad there are trucks with cars serving as permanent residents.
Great place. Clean toilets, beautiful view, and a quiet location.
From the pitch you have a great view over the reservoir. There was still plenty of space for us in the late afternoon at the beginning of October. We did not need the disposal facilities, but they appeared, like the public toilets, to be very orderly. Thanks for this place!
The actual camper area was already full at noon, so we stayed very well and peacefully for two nights at the racetrack in the overflow area. Drinking water is available a few meters farther at Le Phare, by the parking spaces.
