Viewpoint parking, busy mornings

Great place for a quiet night with breathtaking views. We arrived in the evening, when only a few cars were still there, and stayed overnight with two other motorhomes. The spaces are suitable for vehicles up to 6 m; in some places, slightly longer vehicles may fit. From 8 a.m. it gets busy and the peace is over. Access is also possible for large vehicles—as the buses carrying tourists come up here too. The question is where they park.✦Translating

Fantastic view! No facilities or anything similar, but the location outweighs everything! There is a shop with a simple café. We slept one night; it was sunny with a blue sky! Highly recommended! 385 kr to drive up.✦Translating

Dreamlike place. Dreamlike view. There is plenty of space; if you are lucky, you can stand in the front row with a view of the fjord. People occasionally come to look around, but they quickly leave again. Very quiet at night. More people and buses arrive around 8 a.m. During café opening hours, the toilets can be used.✦Translating

We stayed there overnight on July 11, 2026, and the view was simply fantastic. Otherwise, there is nothing there. We were lucky that the weather was also perfect. The road up is also simply wonderful.✦Translating

A place with a dreamlike view if you get a spot in the front row. It becomes quiet in the evening. At the beginning of June, we stayed there with three other cars. At night there were gusts of up to 70 km/h and 6°C. Contrary to other opinions, the ascent is also easy with large vehicles.✦Translating

The view and the nighttime peace are worth the road fee for us in our motorhome. In June, there are no more buses after 4:30 p.m. If only one Hurtigruten ship is in the fjord, its passengers immediately set off on their tours by bus. It is different with larger cruise ships. Price for motorhomes: 385 kr. We asked at the toll booth below: you may park and stay overnight at the top—and yes, this is included in the price. The first row at the skywalk is nicely level. We were able to park our 7 m motorhome here easily. The other spaces appear sloped. After 7 p.m. it becomes quiet. Apart from us, there were only two others, in wind and sleet.✦Translating

Parking spot for one night at Dalsnibba! A dream view of Geiranger. In mid-May it was still very cold, stormy, and covered in snow! Be sure to check the weather forecast. Our night was very uncomfortable despite only 10 km/h wind, but the view made it bearable. It was breathtakingly beautiful. We were lucky to wake up to bright sunshine. 385 NOK✦Translating

Great place to stay overnight at the summit, if permitted. You have to ask, as it depends on the weather (snow, ice, storms). This is understandable because the road is steep and exposed. 50 NOK for the overnight stay plus 350 NOK to drive up the road (toll).✦Translating

Great view! We only stayed here during the day, though, as it would probably have become too cold. Very busy during the day. With our 6.40 m vehicle, we just barely fit into the parking space without sticking out.✦Translating

Very steep winding road but drivable with care in our 7.5m motorhome. 400NOK for toll road and overnight. The reward is the most extraordinary views. Parking at the very top but sloping and very windy. About 200 yards down the road is more acceptable parking but best only if under 7.5m

Breathtaking viewing platform with overnight accommodation—the view of the fjord is unique! Not for the faint-hearted, as it is high up and somewhat adventurous. Overnight stays are subject to a fee. Unfortunately, no toilets are available in the evening. Nevertheless, a special experience for nature lovers!✦Translating

This is what is commonly called a tourist trap, judging by the exorbitant toll price for five minutes of climbing. We decided against it, knowing that other beautiful views of the Geirangerfjord can be accessed for free from the road or by hiking.✦Translating

Amazing view in suitable weather. Today it was very windy, so we did not stay overnight at the top or in the sheltered parking areas. They are classic narrow parking spaces with an amazing view. Best view! If you want to go up here (pricey but worth it!) do it in the evening/night. Sunset was magnificent. There is a webcam to check visibility. It was cloudy it the valley but we were above clouds up here and almost alone for the night. Can't reocmment enough. Gets cold and possibly snowy/icy in shoulder season so check the forecast

380 NOK for an overnight stay at the viewing platform. We were completely alone in the evening, overnight, and the next morning until 9 a.m. Unfortunately, we had bad weather, so we did not benefit as much from the view. It was very windy during the night. We stayed in the lower parking area and were therefore somewhat sheltered. Very beautiful, and there are delicious cinnamon rolls in the café at the top.

Great place with an amazing view. However, toilets are only open from 09:00 till 17:00 and it can get quite cold and windy during the night. Another downside is that it is open 24/7 and some people even visit by night. We had a group of youngsters arriving at 00:30 with a lot of noise and disturbed the peace. They left at 02:00. This made the experience a bit less but overall a nice place!

380 NOK. Three campers and a quiet night with a magnificent view. What more could you want? From 9 a.m. it gets somewhat busy; ideally, leave before the cruise buses arrive.

Beautiful view. We were at the upper parking area with several other cars—it is large and the vehicles spread out well.
