1H Vindeboder, 4000, Roskilde
Been here?
A free, level parking area beside Roskilde harbour, close to the Viking Ship Museum and around 10 minutes’ walk from the centre. Water and electricity are available, but there is no grey- or black-water disposal. It is quieter after 6 p.m., though the area can fill quickly during the day. The parking is accessible from 16/05 to 30/09 and becomes boat parking afterwards.

Very good location. Quiet, levelled, with free parking, water, and electricity. No grey or black water disposal.
Flat parking in a green area. Nice walk through the park to take with the dog. Bakery right next door, open from 5:30 in the morning.
Good parking place for visiting the Viking Ship Museum. Roskilde town centre and cathedral are about a 10-minute walk away.
Good base in the harbor of Roskilde; you can reach the center within 10 minutes. There are plenty of spacious spots. Toilets are nearby. We had a peaceful night here.
Camping prohibited, therefore overnight stays are prohibited.
Parking close to the Viking ship site and the town center, but beware: many cars park here and it fills up quickly. We were lucky to find a place with our 7 m motorhome, reversing onto the grass. For greater security, after our visit we went to the smaller but more suitable motorhome parking area just after leaving the roundabout.
On 15/08/25 the parking area was closed for construction work.
Parking where cars and motorhomes share the space. We arrived at 1 p.m. and found a spot because a car was leaving; otherwise it was full. We stayed overnight, and there were no more spaces by 7 p.m. However, we were woken at 7 a.m. because construction vehicles came to park there. Clean toilets at the marina and a water dispenser near the hotel.
A very beautiful and peaceful place. Shame about the lack of facilities. Free.
Nice amount of space, and very peaceful even though it is right in the middle of town.
Great spot for spending the night and visiting Roskilde. The restaurant next door, near the youth hostel, is very good. Clean toilets near the museum.
Honestly, for a free spot in such a good location, it deserves it. There was some litter around us, which we put in the bin. You cannot expect the peace of a nature spot in the city; you have to know what you want :-)
Perfectly flat, free area right by the harbor. A pleasant surprise to find spaces available on July 23. However, in terms of peace and quiet, we have seen better. Quite a few local youths played music and revved their engines in the adjacent parking area until late at night. It is peaceful in the morning apart from a few vehicles moving around.
This is an beautiful location to stay for the night. Lots of places to eat and plenty of things to see. We stayed on a Saturday night. It was noisy in the early hours, Youths returning home after a night of revelry made a lot of noise at 5am, then the Gulls, then the Church bells. I'd highly recommend ear plugs! There are no services. Loos located down by Fjordvil cafe open 24hous.
Good place right next to the Viking ship museum. The entrance is not immediately obvious but is opposite the main museum parking (where overnighting is not allowed). Plenty of space, water tap (at the 'inland' end of the parking) and litter bins. Easy walk to the town and harbour. WC in close, in harbour area. Cafe etc in harbour, good Pizza place at the bottom of the hill to the town.
Reasonable place to stop in front of the old gas works. A little difficult to find away from the main parking area where overnight stays are forbidden. Good location for visiting the Viking Ship museum and the cathedral.
We stopped here for the night before visiting the Viking Ship Museum. Quiet location, clean toilets, and an ice cream truck at the harbor. Good spot!
Stayed one night. Quiet place. Water-filling available. 750 m from the cathedral, which is worth visiting.
注意: inaccessible on June 21 and 22, 2025 because there are cycling races. The museum remains open.
Simple parking area, busy during the day and quiet in the evening. No service facilities except rubbish bins and a little water.
Close to the Viking museum and walking distance from the city center. When driving a van we suggest arriving before 10:00 am, because in the afternoon the parking lot was full. NOTE: camping overnight is not allowed. You can only park here for a day visit!
Excellent place for the night. Very quiet. The Viking Museum and the town are within walking distance. A fresh bakery around the corner is also quite convenient.
(14/06/24) We slept here for two very peaceful nights. It is very close to the Viking Museum.
Good place to spend the night before or after seeing the Viking Museum. Toilets at the Viking Museum.
