Been here?
A scenic mountain car park in Triglav National Park and a starting point for hikes towards Krn. Access involves 10 km of very narrow road from Kobarid, difficult for wide or long vehicles. Parking costs 10€ for 24hrs and is controlled by a barrier and cameras. Recent information states that overnight stays are not allowed; a toilet is available but has been reported in poor condition.

Parking is subject to a fee! Barrier system and camera surveillance.
The 10 km road up from Kobarid is very, very narrow; be careful if you have a wide or long vehicle. Paid parking with a barrier across the road and cameras. No overnight stays. The beautiful view makes the effort worthwhile, though!
Perfect place with a superb view. Price is 10Eur for 24hrs and there are no signs prohibiting camping. We spend a night with one other camper, quite busy in the morning with cars coming for hikes.
Spent the night here in a van from Monday, May 19, to Tuesday, May 20. The only vehicle in the low season and no police checks. Paid €10. The picnic tables and toilet were also excellent.
The price is somewhat excessive, but the location is good for starting a hike to Krn. The road to get there is very narrow, and the toilet was in terrible condition.
After an adventurous drive in the Fort Nugget Plus, we arrived at the parking lot at the top. It is right at the trailhead for Krn. It’s a remote parking lot directly on the mountain, and there was even a toilet. €10 for the night was okay.
The campsite a little lower down was unfortunately closed, so we went to this parking lot. €10/24 hours, flat and ideally located for starting hikes. If you want to climb Krn, I recommend taking the longer 14–15 km route, which is much more enjoyable and varied in terms of scenery. The toilets, however, were in deplorable condition.
Beautiful place for a hike. But it is PROHIBITED to spet a night outside campings in the TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK! You will get a fine if you park and camp overnight everywhere you go in Triglav national park. Stay on campingrounds or Camper-stops if you have a camper.
A unique experience, because I won’t put myself through this drive again with my semi-integrated motorhome measuring 7 m. A real challenge requiring frequent evasive maneuvers. It was still fun!
