Forest pull-off spots near Interlaken above Niederried with lake views, reached via a narrow winding road best avoided if you dislike passing traffic. Recent reports are concerning: a resident has blocked access with a cart, a no-camping sign now stands at the village turn-off, and locals have threatened to call police over overnight stays. Earlier visitors found it quiet, level enough, and scenic, but the situation appears to have soured markedly through 2025.

The place is not suitable for camping. A large NO CAMPING sign has already been put up down in the village at the turn-off. Overnight stays are not welcome. We turned around again down below.
Someone put a cart in place to block access.
Very, very narrow road to access the site. But once we reached the top, we had a choice because there are several places to park on the side. We were not disturbed; great view of the lake :)
Quiet place. Beautiful view of the lake. Relatively flat ground. You have to go a little higher than the GPS point given, about 150 m.

We were able to spend a quiet night. However, the road is narrow; it is better not to meet a car coming the other way because two vehicles cannot pass.
