A82, PA36 4AG, Loch Nah-Achlaise
Been here?
A flat parking area beside Loch Nah-Achlaise and the A82, with excellent loch, mountain and Highland views. Access has large potholes and often deep, water-filled puddles, especially after rain, although a 7.5m motorhome has accessed it. The area can be noisy during the day but is usually calm between 21 h and 7 hours. There are no services or rubbish bins, while mobile signal can be strong.

Perfect. Be careful: the entrance is often flooded by a large puddle, but the setting is magnificent! Noisy during the day, quiet at night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.Translating
Narrow entrance with potholes and lots of water. Plenty of space for several campers. Lots of noise, but little traffic at night. Beautiful view, no rubbish bin.Translating
Good spot right of the west highland way but for a good part screened from the road by bushes. View over the loch is amazing. Because you are close to the road you will hear some traffic, luckily not too busy at night.
Flat parking area, set back from the road with little overlooking, and despite the very busy road nearby, you hear nothing at night. There are no services here; the view is magnificent. Be careful of the enormous potholes and puddles at the entrance to the parking area.Translating
Great spot set back from the road. A few more midges early in the morning and at sunset, but nothing alarming—in a van, it’s fine. We slept very well. Like the others, there are puddles at the entrance, but no problem getting through them.Translating
A few large puddles at the entrance, but passable. Truly magnificent view, slightly set back from the road, which did not bother us. We parked our 7.5-meter vehicle without difficulty. Fishermen gather here in the morning on weekends, so there is a little activity when you wake up.Translating
Beautiful view. Flat ground, but access has large puddles! Quite a few spaces, 4 or 5 without being too cramped. One minor drawback: road noise.Translating
Beautiful little spot with great views just off the main A82 but luckily no noticeable traffic noise overnight. Randomly for the middle. of nowhere we had good strong mobile signal on both O2 and 3 Sadly our stop was blighted by 2 vans with families that pulled up and let the kids run riot around the place including tormenting our dog whilst the adults just ignored them and drank :-(
Magnificent spot with views of the mountains and the loch. The ground is flat. It is simply splendid!Translating
Perfect spot. Flat, beautiful views, quiet at night and if you have considerate neighbours a lovely stop over in the middle of the Highlands.
Beautiful parking area but currently inaccessible because there is too much water.Translating
Good little parking area for spending one night. There were two of us at this location and we had a good night despite a lot of wind and rain. Be careful on the access road, where there can be quite a few potholes filled with water when it rains.Translating
Beautiful spot with a wonderful view. Road noise did not bother us.Translating
There is nothing wrong with this place. Wonderful view.Translating
Truly incredible view. We slept well because almost no vehicles pass at night. No truck drivers honking. No deer calls except once in the late afternoon, but it seemed far away. Large puddles are at the entrance to the parking area, but they are not deep. There were two converted vans staying overnight. A quiet night.Translating
The road is so loud that it sounds as if you are at an airport... Truck drivers also like to honk in the middle of the night when they see you :-( And it is currently deer rutting season; the stag bellowed so loudly that even earplugs did not help :-DTranslating
Good for spending the night. It is a little farther from the road than the other sites along this stretch, so passing vehicles are less bothersome.Translating
A place with a magnificent view. Two fairly significant drawbacks: Cigarette butts and all kinds of litter—not ideal with a young child.... And unfortunately the road is very busy, even at night, with trucks... So there is a lot of noise. Otherwise, perfect for one night with superb scenery!Translating
Great stop over spot, one of the better ones on this stretch of road. only downsides is the road noise and road coming in. Take the entrance slow, the puddles make the holes appear deeper than they are. 4g signal.
