The lower car park for Bruce’s Stone is a quiet overnight stop and the starting point for walks to Merrick and around Loch Trool. It can accommodate a 7 m motorhome, while the higher car park may be difficult for one when occupied. There are around 10 spaces, additional roadside parking, very limited 4G on Vodafone, and zero facilities.

great place to stop quiet and a nice little walk and view really quiet till about 10.30 am
Good option for spending the night, even with a 7 m motorhome, while hiking to Merrick. Beautiful, quiet place. The spot a little farther uphill could be problematic for a 7 m motorhome if cars are already parked there.
Great location to walk up Merrick, highest mountain in Galloway with stunning views or walk round Loch Trool. parking spaces in higher and lower car park (around 10). plenty of spaces along road to Bruce's Stone as well. stayed in October, 5 vans and cars no facilities, no phone signal so bring a book to read!
