Leksand Strand Camping

Not recommended during Midsummer. Loud, crowded, and action all day. The women at reception were very friendly. At first we had pitch 151—it was hell. Everyone simply walked across the pitch to take a shortcut. Absolutely unacceptable. €150 for three nights was also far too expensive. Service buildings were too far away. I left after two nights; I had had enough. Terrible! The city is also quite far away (3–3.5 km). Midsummer is overrated.✦Translating

We were here in January with a lot of snow. The staff were very helpful, and the open service building was okay. It is a shame there is only an improvised kitchen. Otherwise, everything is good.✦Translating

Still waiting for an apology from the site after 34 of us went down with food poisoning, restaurant was shut down by the local food agency

Beautiful campsite. I was there with five others(!). There was no unfriendly lady at reception—quite the opposite, she was exceptionally nice.✦Translating

We arrived at the site on August 26 at 3:30 p.m.; reception and the barrier were closed. The lady on the phone was not interested in letting us onto the site, even though it was almost empty. We had to drive on.✦Translating

Brief stop in a van: 3 showers, washing machine, dryer, water point, for 83 SEK. Very friendly welcome. New and very clean sanitary facilities.✦Translating

Very large campsite, open area for self-sufficient campers, many activities for children and entertainment (you have to like that). Very beautifully situated directly by the lake. Clean and well-maintained sanitary facilities.✦Translating

The playgrounds are old and boring. The service buildings are OK but it smells. So many drunk people that makes a lot of noise till late at night. Screaming kids running around after 11 PM. The minigolf and the beach is nice though.

Advertised as a 5-star site, but to us it seemed somewhat dated and carelessly designed. The campsite’s own pool was unfortunately still closed, the pool at Leksand Sommarland was moderately clean, and the restaurant only offered simple meals. The mini-golf course was excellent.✦Translating

Great campsite! Family atmosphere. Many services available: pool, slides, mini-golf, inflatable play structure, and more. Magnificent views. Peaceful atmosphere near the lake. Clean sanitary facilities. The pitches are large.✦Translating
